Interesting series of events to note a Dixians… a Dixites… a … screw it.. A Native American's immigration policies.
1. New York has a 1900 factory fire, they're locking away women for some insidious abusive labor practices!
2. "Lost Cause" was this era, erecting monuments such as in Montgomery "The Knightliest of the Knightly race, by the lamps of old, singed chivalry in hearts of Gold", I kept wondering, where's a contemporary civil war Knight reference, nowhere. The Southern Democrat actually Leads the election of Woodrow Wilson after the fire. darn yankees.

The first ever million-record hit is Alma Gluck. The Romanian Jew, like those in New York factories, now with a famous family home life, in a rural New York estate. Sang all the Dixie classics. Links up with popular sentiments and Woodrow Wilson's family outlook. If women labor wasn't already "low class".
Cosmopolitanism was WW's highlighted outlook on immigration with his proud 'roots' or 'heritage' to the nation's founding. T. Roosevelt would reverse on party lines to end hyphen americans. a 'knife in the land that feeds us' was a campaign slogan on WW so I don't listen to that much. Of course such is the political climate today, that we can't even suggest that a pro-segregationist history led to faithful marriages, reduced predatorial practices, such must be our view of hypocrisy within one generation. Romanian was racial here just like African American in-line with original racial meaning in European context. WW gets made a laughing stock about 'inferior races', we're in a modern context, the difficulty in African instruction was general belief.
