The current U.S. President is epic when it comes to being reckless! President Trump will be displaying this trait when he this week decertifies the nuclear deal with Iran. He may rationalize this by saying he is just following the Congressional law periodically requiring a certification decision which sets forth vague standards like a requirement that America's benefit be proportionate to what it is giving up in adhering to the agreement. But make no mistake about it to people throughout the world especially the Muslim world the President's decertification means the President is saying that Iran is not in compliance with the agreement and that simply is not true. It means America cannot be trusted and America does not have good judgment. How can an American President be so foolish to do this move. This could trigger Iran ramping up its nuclear weapons program then what does the body of peaceful nations do there is no easy solutions. America and the world body need Iran and especially its totalitarian Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to cooperate in achieving a peace deal between the Bashar Assad (alawite) government and the Sunni Syrians or at least acquiesce to such a deal. America and the world body need Ayatollah Khamenei to allow the Iraqi people to maintain a non-sectarian Shiite government in Iraq not one like the Maliki government that promulgated extreme discrimination against Iraqi Sunnis that if not created the Islamic State drove an abundance of Sunnis into its arms. All these vital American national security interests President Trump is putting in jeopardy with his decertification of the Iran deal course.
Whether its President Trump saber rattling against North Korea which likely fueled China to covertly aid the North Korea ballistic missile program or his visa ban on select Muslim countries which sends a message to the world America is anti-Muslim, President Trump is concretely making America less safe. The media should get some justice for the American people by painting President Trump with the reckless President broad brush he deserves and do so by getting Las Vegas bookies to generate the odds of President Trump causing America either to get into a major war or actually using major Military power or be the recipient of a major terroristic attack by foreign actors. The media should regularly publish the bookmakers odds on this issue especially after major reckless acts by President Trump which seem to be never ending! This will highlight President Trump's recklessness maybe leading to a curb on this danger for America!
President Trump better not issue an executive order that acts like a significant repeal of the ACA through regulatory means or he will open up two major fronts that bring war from independents. One such front will be to kill the Republican tax reform legislation and the second such front will be to deliver at least one Chamber of Congress into the hands of the Democrats at the mid-term elections so that the Democrats can use the Budget process to stop the regulatory repeal of the ACA. The Republican tax reform legislation has several features which should cause it to be permanently blocked one being that it will increase the deficit by two plus trillion dollars over the next ten years this is a heinous injustice against future Americans that will have to pay this debt. Some independents are prepared to turn our heads away at let the Republicans pass this reform bill into law because the American people desperately need the economic situation in America to improve and this is the only option out there that offers significant hope in this area but if President Trump causes this destruction in the health care system that the Executive Order he plans to sign this week will bring our staying on the sidelines will end! An executive order is not acceptable at all which creates two individual insurance markets instead of one because this second individual market will lower the insurance pool size of the state exchange markets where people with pre-existing conditions need to go to get good insurance to meet their health care needs this shrinking of these pools will cause the insurance premiums in this market to skyrocket causing a myriad of problems. This idea of creating associations where they will be free from the ACA mandates and so be able to offer low cost health insurance to people in the individual insurance market will draw healthy Americans to enroll at the expense of the state exchange market and will not be tolerated because it will destroy the exchange market. The Trump administration needs to follow the law and that means the ACA law doing so probably would allow the Trump Administration to do a little cost cutting in the area of what essential benefits mean but of course the less costly mandates would apply to the insurance plans sold on all the state exchange markets so the individual market would not be undermined. Actually, the House and Senate committee that has oversight on America's healthcare system should hold hearings on creating good cost cutting polices and the laws needed to be passed to effectuate those policies but the vast majority of members of Congress have sold their soul to holding on to their seats and so will never do a good job on this effort and risk losing votes. If President Trump wants to offer valuable leadership on this issue he can call for and advocate for a Simpson-Bowles type of commission for cost-cutting in America's health care system a commission that is more shielded from politics and can just focus on the merits of the issue and generate a report on how to improve the ACA act; both parties agree that the insurance that the ACA has created is too expensive from a premium, deductible and co-pay total standpoint why wouldn't they support hearing from a panel of experts on policy changes to reduce and/or eliminate these problems?
