v.tr.
1. To cause to be absorbed, especially in gradual stages.
2. To combine or unite: merging two sets of data.
v.intr.
1. To blend together, especially in gradual stages.
2. To become combined or united. See Synonyms at mix.

Yes, I understand what the word merged means. Thank you.
But why in this thread and in what context. I've seen it posted on this forum before and I'm curious.

Because too many of your right wing idiots started multiple posts about the same damn non-story. Hence, the MOD merged the multiple threads. Get it? I can try to draw you a picture, if you need further technical assistance.

Now you see, I've never had words with you before this post. Yet you feel the need to attack me and to try and insult me. Nice try, but it's not going to work. Go pick on someone else. At least the MOD had the decency to be polite with his response.

No. I didn't TRY to insult you, I DID insult you. I have very little patience for "stupid" in the mornings.

Obama is such an idiot.

Obama

Obama responds to ire over 2nd anti-Vegas remark - Road Runner

"When times are tough, you tighten your belts," Obama said, according to a White House transcript of his appearance Tuesday at a high school in North Nashua, N.H. "You don't go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage," Obama said. "You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college. You prioritize. You make tough choices."

I was in Vegas the begining of the year, it was number one in foreclosures, and there were massive layoffs from the hotels. The workers that were in the hotels were worried that they would lose their jobs.

What the socialist doesn't understand is that if tourism goes even more down in Vegas less people will have money to pay their mortgage and pay their bills.
WRONG.

Why would anyone object to this?

Is Las Vegas encouraging peoiple to bet their childrens college education money?

There was a time when personal responsibility was one of the cornerstones of the Conservative movement. Now it seems they are encouraging Americans to blow their hard earned money on speedboats and Vegas vacations

Blow their hard earned money on speedbaots and vegas vacations?

WHen I go to AC or Vegas it is not to blow my hard earned money. It is to relax and enjoy a vacation that has proven over the 30 years of my working to be necessary to allow me to be that much more efficient, and thus successful, when I am in the office.

You may nbot agree that gambling is a means of entertainment, but the majority of people that gamble do it for that reason alone....entertainment. Yes, some think of it as a way to make money...and those are the ones with gambling problems....buit most see it as entertainment.

I know people that spend hundreds of dollars a year going to broadway shows, sporting events, dinners at restaurants, etc. Do you see that as blowing their hard earned money?

Hey RW....got a suggestion....get a job and you will see how important a few days away being catered to is to your mental health.

WRONG.

So let me get this straight genius...you disagree with Obama's statement? Which in turn means you feel it is a GOOD idea to buy a boat when you can barely afford to pay your mortgage? Likewise, you also believe it is a GOOD idea to go to Vegas and blwo money that you are supposed to be saving for your childrens' education? I thought you righties were all about personal responsibility?

WOW! This is shocking

I never realized Conservatives had abandoned family values to such a degree. People like CMike advocating that Americans who can't afford to pay their mortgages or send their kids to college should blow what little money they have on Vegas vacations.

Thank god America wised up and drove the Conservatives out of office

Then I advise you not to look in the mirror.
No ...sorry. You did not insult me.

O&T....are you able to pay your mortgage? Are your childrens' educations fully funded?

Is this the part where I say "Did too" and you respond "Did not"?

I apologize for "jumping your shit". I was out of line.

Oldandtired...I am SHOCKED!....SHOCKED I say, that you would advocate that Americans who cannot pay their mortgages or for their childs education should blow their money on Vegas vacations.

President Obama never said that people who had money to spare should not spend it on gambling or entertainment. He specifically stated he referred to people who could not pay their mortgage or raid their childs education fund

It is AMAZING how the right wingers on this board have abandoned a persons responsibility to their family to advocate buying speedboats and Vegas vacations

Read the OP...

This entire thread is about Obama saying "When times are tough, you tighten your belts," the president said. "You don't go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college."

People like yourself and Oldandtired are obviously encouraging Americans to spend money meant for their families on boats and Vegas vacations

Thankfully, Liberals have better family values and understand that you should not waste money your family needs to live on

Sounds like the Republican platform hasn't changed.

It used to be: Buy a house that you can't possibly expect to pay the mortgage on.

Now it is: Spend all your money gambling and/or buying things you can't afford.

TFF!

It's up to people to decide what to do with their own money, not for Orwellian Obama to decide for them.

If people wish to vacation in Vegas because they saved up money to do so and want a nice vacation that is there business.

And thus why the liberals are pushing for the handouts and entitlements.

So what is next RW.....people should not advertise on TV for "non essential" products as the American people are too irrespoopnsible to decide if they can afford to buy them?

So you are saying that it is OK to assume that ads on TV force people to make irresponsible decisions?

SO you agree that the government should get involved in our personal decision making becuase we are just too plain gullible and irresponsible to do it for ourselves?

Is that what you believe RW?

Hey...spinner......listen carewfully...I will use samll words to make it easy.

The conservative (sorry...big word) platform is simple...

People are smart enough to make their own decisions. If they are not, they will suffer the consequences and thanks to the hot stove theory, most likely will not make the same mistake again.

Seems your platform is...

People will never learn and therefore lets make this a country where the irresponsible are not permitted to make their own decisions.....and becuase we really do not know who the irresponsiblea are, we will not let ANYONE make their own decisions.

You like that theory?

No shit, the obama should take his own advice with our fuckin' money.

But its OK to take your wife out to a Broadway show and dinner and then have AF-1 do a strafing run over ground zero?

And it's OK to fly hundreds of staffers to Copenhagen to try to get the Olympics and then again to attend a conference on the modern day alchemy that is "Man Made Global warming"

How about making Congress unpaid, part time work, have them meet only once a month unless there's an emergency, can we start with that?

Do as they Say... Not as they Do, CF!...

:)

peace...
