The dollar was pretty weak during the Bush administration. And some of that was pretty good..especially for tourism.

Gas prices also spiked. While the wars were responsible for some of that..most of it was speculation.

You want the government to become involved with that? Because it seems to be involved, and in a positive way for big oil, in just about everything else that lards those companies with profit. That they extract from our economy. From military deployments to huge tax breaks.
