Abortion rates hit a historic low, dipping under 20% for US residents, which hasnt occured since 1974.

Abortion rates, since records have been kept, with some accuracy in the 1970's, soared under then President Carter,

Under PResident Reagan, the percentage leveled off and then began declining steadily. The rate of decline, which was greatest while President Reagan was in office, then continued at a slower pace under then President Clinton, and now, under the current President Bush administration, it has continued to achieve a historic low, under 20% which has not occured since the 70's,

What legislation did Bush sign that had an impact of abortion rates? Coincidence and correlation does not mean causation. Bush was president during the time in which abortion rated declined. He was also president when 9-11 happened. Can I say that I had a vegetable sandwich today because Bush gave the “State of the Union” speech today? I think that this is the only conclusion that can be drawn from your article.

I’m glad that the rate of abortions is declining. I doubt that this is happening because Bush is president.

People might think of Rudi as pro-choice. Yet, abortion rates declined in New York City when he was mayor there.

Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, under attack from conservatives for his position on abortion, reiterated Friday that while he personally believes the procedure is morally wrong, women have the right to choose.

According to the state Office of Vital Statistics, total abortions performed in New York City between 1993 (just before Giuliani arrived) and 2001 (as he departed) fell from 103,997 to 86,466 -- a 16.86 percent decrease. This upended a 10.32 percent increase compared to eight years before Giuliani, when 1985 witnessed 94,270 abortions.

What about Medicaid-financed abortions? Under Giuliani, such taxpayer-funded feticides dropped 22.85 percent, from 45,006 in 1993 to 34,722 in 2001.

IIRC, the same article states that use of the "Morning After Pill" was at an all-time high.

Coincidence?

I have yet to see you provide one shred of evidence that claim is true. Or are you just upset that he HAS a wife? I have been married to my wife almost 25 years and we met in the Philippines, I am white and she is Filipino. I guess in your demento world that means I have a mail order bride too?

I think we're not going to have THIS conversation. Arbitrarily attacking family members of board members is a no-no. However, if you put your own family member out there, it is unreasonable to expect no response.

In the future, under the latter circumstances, Im going to let it proceed. Just want to make sure everyone is aware of the ground rules.
