After reading Karin McQuillan’s concise history of the Chicago sewer rat’s disdain for the Constitution it suddenly hit me that he put decades of preparation into the first lie he told as president.

It is fair to say that the “constitutional scholar” makes no pretense of defending the Constitution. Indeed, swearing his oath of office was the first lie he told as president.

The sewer rat surely knew that if he did make it to the presidency he would have to swear the presidential oath. The lie came easily because he always knew he would lie when the time came so he prepared for it. I’ll wager that he practiced how to say the lie and sound sincere much the way actors rehearse dialogue.

NOTE: It comes as no great revelation that Taqiyya and Kitman would attract an ambitious liar to Islam.

After he told the first lie as president there was nothing standing in his way to tear down the entire Constitution as he has been doing. Getting away with lying every time he opened his mouth came as a gift from a generous Congress, the Supreme Court, and media.

I can understand the party of liars embracing one of their own. I think I even understand the politics governing the Supreme Court, but there is no justification for the media not reporting what the liar was on the day he announced his bid for the White House:

Lie two: Obama did not specialize in the Constitution. Obama cared about and taught only one subject: race. One course was about race in the Constitution. It is on this flimsy basis that he attempts to pawn himself off as a constitutional scholar.

Dr. Hodges would do the world a service if he diagnosed the sickness afflicting the millions who believe famous liars at the same time they know better than to believe the liars they meet in everyday life. To me, that is the ultimate split personality.

While I can't account for Obama's second term, I strongly believe he was elected in '08 as a backlash from Bush -- who was the essence of all that is wrong with White America. This swing from one extreme to the other is not unfamiliar. Voters become so fed up with a personality type they unconsciously reach for the most opposing manifestation.

It is a swinging pendulum, which is why I fear the very real possibility of a Trump Presidency. Of all the right-wing candidates he is the most compellingly opposite of Obama. He is so opposite of Obama he sometimes seems poised on the verge of calling him a n!gger.

It will employ millions, redistribute the Nation's wealth, create thousands of new industries and put an end to the damage done to this Nation by Reaganomics.

How do you not acknowledge the achievements of FDR and Eisenhower, which resulted in the most successful and productive decades in our history -- the late 40s through to the early 80s, which is when Reagan, the corporatist Puppet, began his deregulation assault on the Middle Class?

I was born in 1936 -- the height of the Great Depression. At the time we lived in a six-family tenement on Columbia Street on the Brooklyn Waterfront. In 1938 my family was on the verge of being homeless. My father was one of those who were employed by one of FDR's WPA "make-work" programs which rescued us from abject poverty -- and if my parents were alive they would be happy to tell you all about it.

No. Bernie Sanders is not a communist.

Socialism is not communism.

Democratic socialism is capitalism with regulations (such as the Glass-Steagall Act that Bill Clinton repealed) which serve the interests of the working class rather than the super-rich.

Unless you are among the One Percent you will be doing yourself a favor by voting for Bernie Sanders.

Sanders hasn't taken a dime from the One Percent. Every other candidate has. Barack Obama was carried into Office by Wall Street money.

Sanders will focus his attention on redistributing this Nation's wealth, a substantial amount of which has been hoarded by One Percenters, the bankers and Wall Streeters. He has his eye on offshore money. For these reasons he represents the only hope remaining for America -- as it once was.
