"...pray for his death."

If people want to make that claim, or insinuate it, or imply it, or suggest it, that's their free speech right isn't it?

Yes it is. But as with any free speech, it is free speech to refute it.
The real issue is...why do those such as you NOT refute it? If you did, those that abuse their right to free speech by spewing lies with the intent to create anger would likely stop spewing such lies with the intent to create anger.

The problem is....such partisanship on both sides exists, that one from the same side rarely, if ever, calls out an ally that lies...

And instead simply says he (she) is exercising their right to free speech.

Sort of what you did.

I refute lies, inaccuracies, distortions, and generally bad arguments here every day. It doesn't stop anyone from doing it.

:lol::lol: That's classic.... coming from you. Seriously.

1. First, it has been pretty well established that the shooter was driven by neither party, nor by rough political talk.

3. Some one percent of the population is thought to be schizophrenic (]Schizophrenia Facts and Statistics[/url]), ...and to be driven to some horrendous act, need no more than a parking ticket.

First, it's not entirely understood that he is schizophrenic as psychosis can be a result of many things: severe depression, bi-polar phases, sleep deprivation.........

2nd Treated Mentally Ill people are no more likely to engage in criminal behaviour than the rest of the population. So your statement above, in part is not true.

The real treat is that one in 4 people suffer from mental illness of some sort.

"Mental disorders are common in the United States and internationally. An estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older — about one in four adults — suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year.1 "

I can't post URLS on this site yet. Google it - go to NAMI's site - or NIMH. The one above is from NIMH

It is sad that more people are not talking about mental illness in light of this awful event. We all seem to need something concrete and real to help us understand this terrible event. The white elephant in the room is that we are all to blame; you, me, the parents, him, the media. the politicians - all of us need to hang our heads in shame. We should be able to talk about Mental illness openly having candid conversations in regards - like we do about cancer. The stigma such an encompassing illness receives is pitiful.

Try and find a person out there that doesn't have an aunt, uncle, mother, father, son, daughter ... affected by MI. The number is small. MI - like cancer doesn't give a rat’s ass if you are liberal, conservative, socialist, extreme right wing. It will attack your ass and everyone around you with reckless abandon and leave your ass empty, broke and hopeless. You get out of this life unaffected by Mental Illness in some capacity, you are one lucky person.

If you really want to help this kind of crap not take place. Here is a short list of things you can do.

1. Support mental illness by helping a place like NAMI. Time, cash, anything.
2. Educate yourself about mental illness.
3. Tell your politicians to quit cutting support for mental health care. Make it easier for people to get help. Just try helping a mentally ill person get a bed in hospital some time, and you'll understand quickly how bad it is.
4. Break the damned stigma of mental illness.

Keep your prayers for the Death Penalty. It is only an aspirin to ignore the real, complicated issue here.

Yes...I know you do....when the liar disagrees with your overall sentiments of the topic at hand.

You are more likely to rationalize the persons right to lie than you are to actually call him out on the lie...unless, of course, you disagree with the overall sentiments of the person who lied. Then you will bend over backwards to refute the lie.

But you knew that was what I was saying.
