A few studies that lead to an interesting, if predictable, conclusion.

Narcissists tend to step up to be leaders.
Leader Emergence: The Case of the Narcissistic Leader ? Pers Soc Psychol Bull

Not only that, leaders tend to be narcissistic, even if they are not normally narcissistic.
Study gives us a new perspective on the powerful

This means that leaders, either through natural inclination, or because they have power, tend to think less about how others see things.

It probably will not surprise anyone that better liars tend to get into positions of power. The really interesting thing is that power actually makes people better liars.

This means that liars get better as they get more power.

Guess what else happens when you get power.
Power breed hypocrisy ? powerful people judge others more harshly but cheat more themselves | Not Exactly Rocket Science | Discover Magazine

You become more hypocritical. Anyone noticing a trend here?

The more power a person has, the more they overestimate their capabilities.
Why Powerful People Overestimate Themselves - TIME

It seems that powerful people actually believe they can do things that normal people cannot accomplish.

Did anyone ever believe Clinton when he felt their pain? If they did they were probably wrong.
Association for Psychological Science

It seems that the more power a person has, the less compassion he feels.

What does all this mean? People in power are self centered, liars, hypocritical, over confidant, and uncaring. The more power they have, the more they become like this.

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

This is why I do not trust politicians, especially if they want the job.

Who the heck would want the job right now?A person not in prime sane condition obviously.

Any person who sees how seriously we are on the edge of irreversible destruction of our freedoms and liberty we have cherished for centuries and wants to stop the current political madness. One doesn't have to be unbalanced; one does need to be willing to help.

You will not find such a one in a pool of politicians.
Or perhaps one, but one good man in a massive pen of swine.
And fighting corporate interests all alone?

Kinda like trying to find a warm cuddly snake.

Are you just figuring this out QW?

I do not seek the Presidency but if drafted I will run.

Then I will get drunk and not show up for the inauguration.

This I pledge.

Who wants to be my VP?

I have to agree with you there.

No, but this is the first time I had all the science in a row to back me up.

You've been listening to too many narcissists. Politics is a game, and only people who want to play get elected - because cash = "speech", according to the SCOTUS, and it takes a shitload of cash to get elected. The only "honest" politicians out there are people like Mike Bloomberg - even bigger narcissists than people who bought their seat with other people's money rather than their own.

You forgot to add that people like this should be systematically exterminated from the human race via whatever means possible.

I need to give you rep if not only for this quality post but at the very least for your avatar.

SCOTUS actually understands, as do the politicians in power, that cash facilitates speech. That is why they hypocritically exempted themselves from any restrictions on spending money at any point during an election cycle. Then they told the lie that corporations buy elections, while requiring anyone who wants to actually say anything politically to be organized as a corporation. The sad part of this whole thing is that there are still some people who think politicians are not only out for themselves.
