Potential New Hampshire spoiler Kasich could pose threat to Rubio

ANCHESTER, N.H. (Reuters) - U.S. Republican presidential candidate John Kasich is polling in the low single digits nationally but may be poised to play the role of spoiler in Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary by cutting into the support of higher-profile rivals such as Marco Rubio.

The Ohio governor, who is vowing to erase the U.S. budget deficit without shredding the safety net for poor Americans, has built a base of support among moderate Republicans and independent voters, who wield special clout in New Hampshire because they can vote in either party's primary.

Kasich, 63, has the support of about 12 to 14 percent of New Hampshire’s voters in recent polls. The former congressman has staked the viability of his White House aspirations on New Hampshire, whose pivotal primary is part of the state-by-state contests to pick the party nominees for the Nov. 8 election to replace Democratic President Barack Obama.

How is Kasich jumping from low polls into being threat to The Donald?

I didn't watch debate as in Europa we didn't get it on the television. I heard news reports that Rubio had very bad debate.

It would be better if you came up with your own thread titles. Using the headline from an article is a bit lame.

Kasich not too far right as in a far right kook. Not a bad guy. Much better than Cruz or rubio. Trump\ kasich not a bad ticket.

Huh? We have always called Europa Europa.

I think only Britain and Republic of Ireland always have called it Europe.

Here is official EU website....Europa!

EUROPA - European Union website, the official EU website

Also UEFA Europa League:

UEFA Europa League – UEFA.com

Kasich is at least authentic. We'll see how much appeal there is for that on the right.

I hope Kasich or Christie comes in 2nd. The longer the establishment/NEO CON/RINO candidates are splitting the vote the better the chance Trump wins the nomination and we MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

The south is going to determine the gop candidate and the're still pissed about the Civil War. No yankees except maybe Trump.

I think it's kind of funny how people are declaring Rubio in serious trouble because of a less than steller debate about this time a week ago lots of people were saying Cruz might lose Iowa because he had a bad debate right before the vote and that Trump looked brilliant for skipping the debate and might win Iowa we all know how that turned out. I'm by no means suggesting Rubio will win New Hampshire I never thought that was realistic even before the debate but I do think people place far to much importance on these debates in New Hampshire as in Iowa it will be about who has the best organization and ground game.
