Post Solutions Here

Here is a link to myriad religious wars in the west since the Dark Ages.

European wars of religion - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

The Catholics and Protestants have been at war in Ireland with 1641 and yes, that was a religious and it has continued to be one ever since.

And no, your inept home schooling would not have included facts like these.
from your own link

This is not to say that the combatants can be neatly categorised by religion or were divided by their religion alone, as this was often not the case.

Typical home schooled ignorance to take something out of context and erroneously use it to defend their falsehoods.
it's not out of context

the EU has been having wars with each other for a very long time, it's the main reason we declared ourselves to be neutral, to avoid getting involved.

saying it's just over religion is just blatant ignorance since most of those people would war just for any reason.

but your a leftist, if someone prays, it's a religious war and not war for any other reasons

The only thing that your home schooling did was to brainwash you into into blaming everything on the "leftists".

:lmao:
whose idea was it to get involved in EU wars?
whose idea was it to explode the debt and use fear mongering to explode it more?
whose idea was it to have the Fed tinker with the free market?

yea, public school history class tells me that leftist are going to drive the country to ruin, with glee

Moronic non sequiturs!

I have gone back pages and pages and pages on the Politics section, and do not see a single topic which proposes a solution for any of the issues facing our country.

We can all start with civility. If we can't be civil, there's no way any type of solutions can be offered. And when someone offers one, its natural that someone or another will be diametrically opposed to it. You'd do better not looking for solutions on political boards. Think of some of your own if you like.

To be honest, there aren't any solutions. In a country this politically divided, there can be no hope of any real solutions being implemented.

Hate to be the naysayer, but nothing in the past decade in America has given me any reason think otherwise.

No one is going to stop the spending.
No one is going to end the threats overseas.
No one is going to get people off of foods stamps and welfare and into good jobs.
No one is ever going to tell the truth about the state of affairs in America.
No one is ever going to be tolerant of another person because of who and what they are.
No one will ever be properly educated without some sort of biases being inserted into the curriculum.

No one, it seems, can keep a promise.

So our best policy would probably be to stay as much out of the way of that transition as possible, and wait for the Arabs to come out the other side.

The issue is with that, America took this kind of approach in WWI, and was inevitably drawn in when Germany refused to end submarine warfare in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean; also while trying to ally with Mexico against the United States. It isn't that easy. The unavoidable conclusion is that this will spill over and threaten American interests. Conflicts like this always do, and they always start small.

And as we all know, in WWII, when the US invoked a trade embargo on oil to Japan, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. Before, America chose not to enter the war, it paid for that mistake with the lives of unwary sailors. It's like employing the flawed idiom: "A watched pot never boils." Tell you what, the pot always boils. If you simply ignore it, it will boil over.

In regards to ISIS it's not that I want troops on the ground but if we are serious as the President says about degrading and defeating ISIS it can not be done with air power alone. For why we have to be in this fight sooner or later no matter what we do or do not do in the middle east we become the target of radical muslim extremist if we truly are serious about defeating ISIS lets go all in and do it if we are not lets get all the way out and stop pretending we are.

All the topics are partisan hackery bullshit. They can all be boiled down to three topics:

1. Liberals suck!

2. Conservatives suck!

3. Fags suck!

Seriously. Look at the topic titles on the front page. I defy you to find one that puts a solution to any problem on the table.

So. Put a solution to any problem facing America on the table right now. Any issue. ISIS, unemployment, immigration, the debt, race relations, etc.

Demonstrate some intelligence.

You like the FAIR Tax? Explain it.

You want boots on the ground in the Middle East to fight ISIS? Have the balls to say so and explain why.

Stop whining, start fixing.
You just created a whine thread with 0 solutions of your own, dipshit.

And your two "examples" are nothing more than digs at conservatives as usual...

1. Ban all tax expenditures. This would provide an additional $1.2 trillion in revenue which could be used to pay down the debt and lower tax rates for everyone. After the debt is paid off, we could lower tax rates even more. And it would have the added benefit of being able to fill out your taxes on a postcard, and people earning identical incomes paying identical tax. This would also result in instant campaign finance reform since special interests would have no incentive to bribe a politician to put tax expenditures in the tax code. What's more, houses would be cheaper!

2. Ban credit default swaps that do not have an insurable interest. This would eliminate the force multiplier effect of these financial weapons of mass destruction.

3. Instead of fining a financial institution for fraud and other crimes, often for less money than they made off their crimes, start putting the responsible parties in prison.

4. Fix it so that we buy our health insurance the same way we buy our auto, home, and life insurance. I should be able to pick up the phone and choose what health insurance options I want, from whatever health insurance company in the US I want.

5. Raise the Social Security and Medicare eligibility age to 70 and index to 9 percent of the population. When SS was established in 1935, the average life expectancy was 60. SS was INSURANCE for those who lived beyond the mean. At that time, only 5.4 percent of the population was over 65. In 1965, when Medicare was established, 9 percent of the population was over 65. Today, more than 13 percent of the population is over 65. This is an unsustainable trend. We are living longer, we should be working longer.

6. Pull your head out of your ass. You are one of the biggest whiners on this forum, Grampa.

BAM! Took me less than ten minutes to provide 5 serious solutions.

#7 The only people you EVER call to task for bullshit or "perceived" bullshit are rightwingers. You sir are a fraud plain & simple.

tax reform
campaign finance reform (overtrurn citizens united)
drastically pare down post 9-11 bloated security industrial complex big brother behemoth.

Solution to repair the GOP....eliminate all teapers.

The politicians want us all to argue and fight so we really don't see what is going on while they are fucking us over.
I even think there are people being paid to cause trouble online, as well as the marches that start out peaceful.

Anyway I sometimes get a kick coming here reading the comments with some pretty crazy stuff that makes me laugh

Sorry for the butt hurt.

And you have incredibly selective vision.

By the way, please point out which of the five solutions I listed are liberal solutions.

It's hard to watch the carnage. And see our sacred investment in Iraq circling the drain. But truth is -- We have no valid to degrade or defeat ISIS. WHO would we be SUPPORTING? Certainly not the Iraqi govt who refused to sign the defense agreement and kicked our asses out. Defeat ISIS in Anbar and you leave a sucking vacuum of power. It's like trying to fill a black hole. Same deal in Somalia, Yemen, maybe Libya. WE destabilized the situation by insisting on supporting "political reform" and removing the strong men. They may have been assholes, but they kept the body count low.

Truth is -- you can't clean it up until you see adequate and credible central power in those places. Two Thumbs nailed it. We've screwed it up worse with everything we've done there in the past 30 years. 12 years of embargo in Iraq and locking Iraqis up with a madman and no economy to turning on Assad when he was fighting to eject the very radicals that now spill over the whole potential caliphate. Let the caliphate reign. Force folks inclined to Western politics to organize their own states and oppose them. And for Gods sake, support Jordan, Egypt, even Assad if that's what it takes to limit the caliphate.

Plenty of other issues with common ground between left/right. One of the easiest is Corporate collusion and Corporate welfare. Constituents dont like it. End it. Halt the ability of the Fed Govt to pick winners and losers and hand out kickbacks for election support. It's the POWER stupid. Not the campaign cash. No more subsidies for ANYTHING that is already a product and on the market.

To that end -- close the bulk of the Dept of Commerce. It's a monument to corporate collusion. Move the couple of vital services left to some other agency..

Quit LYING to American public about entitlements. We are right now in the middle of the Soc Sec crisis that's been expected for 40 years. SS went negative in 2010 ahead of schedule and is now sapping 100s of Bill from the Treasury. Soon to be equal (with Medicare shortfalls) to the entire Fed Budget in Bush43 first term.. Not a peep.. Not a word, Definitely no plan.. Just crickets..

you asked, and couldn't be honest so you flame.

not a surprise.

however, non-arab countries with muslims in them still have muslim v different muslim violence.

Nothing like on the scale in the Middle East. Not even close.
well yea, they lack the numbers and supportive laws
You clearly have no idea of the numbers of Muslims in non-Arab countries or you would not have said something so stupid.
uhm, yea, I know that knowing the population of every kind of people in every kind of country is really really important to people with absofuckinglootly no life.

seriously, there's porn on the internet for people just like you

You missed my solution to the Isis problem. Pray some. Kill all.

why?

do we go to war b/c people in the ME are killing people in the ME?

how many Americans die so you can get fake revenge?

Yes, as a matter of fact we do .... because we are the only ones who can do it. We owe it to humanity to step up to our responsibilities.
hows about the people over there take care of their responsibilities?

since when are we responsible for the world?

dufuck are you talking about?

you want to go fight in a war for people that hate you, be my guest.

don't demand that I go, or send my son.

there's a vast difference between helping someone and war, there's a time when you have to say; Ok, it's been 50 years, and you still need my help? Time you grow up and take care of yourself, b/c you are living off me.
