All this...vitriol cannot be good 24/7/365. Besides..I am a libra. I need balance. Maybe you do too?

So...instead of negative news reports...post positive ones. It can be about animals, vacations, humanitarian good deeds, anything that brings good vibes.

I'll start:

Some Northern California firefighters were surprised by a $123 anonymous gift after they dashed out of a Costco store, called to respond to an emergency.

They abandoned a cart filled with potato salad, steak, corn and watermelon — all the ingredients for a Memorial Day cookout.

When they returned, they found the bill for the groceries had been paid, and a note left on the receipt. “Thanks for being there for us.” It was signed, Air Force Wife.

Chef Wins Reality Show and Uses Money To Feed Chicago Homeless

Thanks to his winning a recent reality television show, Quentin Love can open his big heart to all the big appetites in the Chicago homeless community.

Every Monday for the last two years, Love’s restaurant, the Turkey Chop Grill, would close for business and fire up their grills for anyone in the city in need of a hot meal. With the help of a weekly team of volunteers, Love has paid nearly $2,000 a month out of pocket for over 60,000 free meals.

The compassionate business model, however, was not sustainable enough to keep going on its own.

That’s when Guy Fieri called with an invitation to compete for a $36,000 prize on the Food Network reality television show Guy’s Grocery Games.

It was a gamble, but Love won the action-packed competition and not only used half of the prize money to continue feeding hungry Chicagoans in need, but he also donated the other half to the United Services Organization.

Veteran With PTSD is Creating Free Tiny House Community for Others Like Him

This Air Force veteran was taught that he should never leave a man behind – and that is exactly the creed behind his new tiny house project.

Donnie Davis is creating a micro-housing community in Franklinville, New Jersey that will provide shelter, counseling, and therapy animals to veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder – and it will all be provided free of charge.

An Afghanistan War veteran himself, Davis first got the idea for the Operation Safe Haven project when he got a call about an abandoned 277-acre campground that was going up for sale in Franklinville. Since Davis is also a pastor, the caller asked whether he would want to build a church on the property.

Instead, Davis launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for a tiny house community that would nurture vets with PTSD back to health.

In 14 months, Davis has raised over $200,000 of his $500,000 goal.

Davis has already moved onto the property so he can dedicate all his time to the initiative. A team of volunteers and veterans alike are currently working on building the facilities and recruiting potential residents. In return for housing within the community, residents will help care for the animals, grounds, and gardens.

The facilities will also be carbon neutral and environmentally-friendly thanks to solar panels installed on the roofs.

Since Davis started working on the project, the veteran has found that the calming outdoor atmosphere of the campground has helped treat his own PTSD. After being in the Air Force for five years in the 90s, he worked for five years as a Maryland police officer. But now, surrounded by nature and peace, Davis feels the anxiety of his past ebbing away – and he now wants to help other veterans who are just like him in a meaningful way.

This is not really "good news", but it made me laugh til I peed a little bit...so I thought I would see if you would pee a bit too.
