Port Authority Removes Saudi Arabia ‘Candy Flag’ Statue on Ground Zero After Backlash
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will remove an art installation featuring a nine-foot tall statue of Saudi Arabia’s flag from the World Trade Center campus.

Good it doesn't deserve to be anywhere near ground zero.

Yeah? And why is that?

Is Saudi Arabia somehow NOT one of the G20 nations that ALL have some kind of icon there? Did we sleep through some membership shakeup?

Are ALL of the other icons being moved as well?

And one more thing.

--- How come this doesn't amount to "erasing history" like all those UDC Confederate monuments were supposed to? Hm?

The art exhibit "Candy Nations" features candy representations of all twenty G20 nations:

Yet this one gets singled out by, it should be pointed out, "The Observer", a rag so destitute of credibility that it's picked as a source for the Hateway Plundit, Jim Fucking Hoft's crackpot fake news website.

Say, why don't we just ban the New York Mets on the basis that Tim McVeigh was born in New York?

Why don't we remove the star in the flag that represents Iowa, since Stephen Paddock was born there?

I had to look both of those up, but it's RILLY RILLY IMPORTANT.

From the OP link:

>> When reached for comment by Observer last week, Jenkell [the sculptor] said she had deliberated on removing the Saudi Arabia statue from Candy Nations’ tenure at the World Trade Center campus, but decided against it because “Saudi Arabia is entirely part of the G20 just like any other candy flag of this Candy Nations show.” The artist’s exhibit will find a new home at John F. Kennedy International Airport, where it will be prominently displayed throughout the AirTrain system. <<

All by itself.

Get that? "Candy Nations" will represent nineteen of the twenty G20 nations, leaving, presumably a blank space where Saudi Arabia was, drawing attention to the only spot where one is missing and inviting an explanation. IN context it would have been just another one of twenty. Now the empty spot will stand out.

Meanwhile the removed sculpture will be moved to the airport where it will sit, all by itself and out of context, in the busiest airport in New York city, drawing even more attention for its out-of-placement.

That's more than twice the attention it would have had in the first place.

Good job, PC-drunk drones.
