Porn in the USA: Conservatives are biggest consumers

pale! look at my 2 threads with pics, from yesterday! :D

and i don't know how thorough they were on this analysis....stuff like this seems like there would be a 'motive' to even analyze it honestly....

but zip codes can discern voting blocks of republicans vs democrats....they do have public information that would say as example, 85% of this zip code voted republican or democratic....

either way the results show, less porn purchased in liberal leaning states per person vs conservative leaning states per person.

But, as has been pointed out, the 'study' did NOT ask WHO was purchasing porn, liberal or conservative. So to make the claim that "more conservatives buy porn" is pure conjecture, a LIE by any other terms.

yeah, even states like Oklahoma are only about 60 percent republican.

IF Liberals were more APT to buy porn than conservatives, WHY wouldn't porn sales be higher in more liberally leaning states?

IT should be...if liberals in general, buy more porn per person, no?

TX is a red state.
SF is a blue state.

TX has a larger population, so they'll have more people buying it by default.

SF has a smaller population, who is too busy making it to buy it.

Big deal.

personally, i think it is either liberals being too cheap to pay for porn, or having less means to do such...and they are easily satisfied with the abundance of ''free stuff''.

the paid porn stuff is usually the one on one contact with someone else ready, willing and able to participate in filling your needs, isn't it????

What else could ''paid'' porn be?

I lived in Utah for ten years, and I would just say that the more restrictive one's paradigm is in regards to sex, the more people will search for some kind of outlet. Utah is a highly sexed state. The problem is that the predominant religion forbids sex outside of marriage. So, prostitution, adult sex shops, escort services, and porn flourish.

The more social restrictions we put into place over normal human behaviors (i.e., human sexualities), the more oddities will flourish.

People are sexual beings. If a guy can't have sex with a real, live woman, he's going to look for an outlet.

Whereas, in places with a more liberal outlook on sexuality, porn is less necessary because people are having sex IRL.

I saw this all the time when I was growing up S. Baptist and cleaning houses for money. The women who went to my church had lives that were rather confining, and they were married, so they weren't engaging in promiscuity, but they'd have thousands of the dirtiest kinds of trashy romance novels hidden away in their houses.

the same measurment was used for both, it was measured per every 1000 people, so the article stated?

The fact still remains, no one was asked what their political leanings were when they signed up for the porn, so to claim more liberals OR conservatives were buying it as a fact is dishonest at best. It's pure conjecture, an assumption, a lie.

That proves what, exactly? You can have 6 people living in the same house and 4 of them voted Democrat, 1 of them didn't vote, and the other voted Republican. Simply because they came from a block that was tagged as "Republican" automatically means more Republicans buy porn?

Seriously?

Most polls are skewed enough. This one is flat out ridiculous.

yes, i agree pale.

But the one thing this analysis does show, IF IT IS EVEN ACCURATE, is that out of every 1000 people, more buy porn living in Republican leaning states, than out of every 1000 people, living in democratic leaning states.

there is nothing that identifies each of those individuals as republican or democratic, I agree.

BUT, assuming these numbers are correct, i think it could be somewhat rationalized that more republicans purchase porn than democrats do, soley on the fact that you would expect the number of people, or the relating percentage of people per 1000 paying for porn, would be higher in the democratically leaning states.... IF they are the ones buying it in the republican leaning states...., no?

anyway, none of this really matters, we will never have the precise figures....as you said earlier, it was not broken down with precision so only rational ASSUMPTIONS at best, can be derived from it....

the poll was meant to cause another division among us...that's all, imho.

Well there ya go... you have to *ASS*ume. That's all I was saying. There is no credible or factual way this 'study' can make the claim it does. It would have to ask each and every person individually what their political leanings were, and they don't.
