I'm sure that, outside of having sex on camera for money, this guy lives a chaste life. :eusa_whistle:

So, what do you all think? Should porn film sex be safe sex?

BBC - Newsbeat - Porn actor calls for condom use after getting HIV

An adult film actor in LA who has HIV says he wishes he had known more about the risks involved in having unprotected sex.

Derek Burts was told he was infected in October and all the actors he'd worked with since his last negative HIV test were said to be quarantined and tested.

He says he caught the infection in Florida during a gay porn shoot.

But a clinic released a statement claiming he got it "through private personal activity".

The porn industry in California, which is the largest of its kind, became increasingly worried.

Steve Hirsch is the founder of Vivid Entertainment, the world's biggest adult film production company.

He says: "If you mandate condoms, this industry will go underground immediately."

The argument is that many viewers don't like seeing latex on screen because it's not sexy.

Some actors have said they don't enjoy the feeling of wearing a condom and it puts them off their performance.

'Very dangerous'
But doctors say the risk of catching a Sexually transmitted infection (STI) are higher for those working in porn and wearing a condom shouldn't be an option but compulsory.

Dr Robert Kim Farley is a director at the Los Angeles County Public Health Department.

He says: "We strongly feel that condom use should be required in this industry.

"Just like a construction worker wouldn't go into a construction site without a hard hat, an adult industry performer shouldn't be having sexual acts without a condom."

Again, people should be able to make their own choices. he made his now he can live with the results but he has no right to legislate behavior for everyone else.

But, we aren't allowed to make our own choices in many job related instances. The article cites hard hats as an example. Many other occupations required the use of personal safety equipment. Healthcare, construction, trucking, all have strict requirements.

This is a valid point.

However, there's no demand for guys working without a hard hat.

Since there IS a demand for guys working without a condom, then once the regulation requiring them to work WITH a condom is implaced, there will be an underground illegal porn industry in California. More of a concern to the industry is that the domestic regulation will be grounds for the establishment of a foreign beach-head for a competitive porn industry.

Just another example of domestic regulations sending business overseas.

That's because you can sue an employer so the employer sets the standard of safety.

If you are an independent contractor like a porn "actor" then you can set your own standards. Of course another "actor" who has to screw you also has the option to demand an aids test or demand that you wear a condom but there need not be legislation.

you can get hiv thru so called normal sex

the hiv is not a strong virus and needs a tear to enter the blood stream...that is why anal sex spreads the virus so quickly....and why male/female
normal sex (whatever the hell that is)
does not spread the virus so easily....

now the topic.....mandatory confom use....in porno films....i vote no...in the sense you realize the risk one takes but i can certianly see the arguement.....motor cyclists must wear helmets in some states and the hard hatted construction work.....but this is porno..where laws should not prohibit how much money you can earn plying your trade...and the big bucks....bareback gay porn

Yeah, NOW the guy's sorry. You fuck strangers on camera for money, and you're surprised to discover that it's dangerous.

Meanwhile, these are the same people who mock Christians as backward bigots who try to censor them...

He's not black, Wm.

Why are you here?

Maybe he should have stuck to normal sex?

Whats normal sex?

Penis inside vagina.

That's sex.

Sticking your dick inside the back end of someone's digestive system isn't sex. It spreads disease. It's how AIDS was spread. Sorry, homosexuals. It's the truth. The cells of the anal wall aren't built for the stretching of fucking, and they tore easily, thus allowing diseases to get into the blood pretty easily. It just isn't true that normal sex is just as likely to spread AIDS. But of course that's not politically correct to point out. "We are all at risk of AIDS" is the PC mantra. Right. A virgin is just as likely to get AIDS as a Haitian intravenous drug using male homosexual. Sure.

William Joyce, one method of spreading HIV is to have an infected mother breast feed her baby. You do not need to have anal sex to contract it.

And here's another news flash......gay men are not alone in enjoying anal sex. Not everyone believes the missionary position is the only possible way to enjoy another person's body.

It would actually kinda suck, but... yeah, I think it's fundamentally a good idea. Considering that the average age people watch porn for the first time is 11 nowadays, forty million people watch it every day, you know, you can make a pretty clear case of negative externalities developing from that. It's not always just about the people directly involved in the transaction.
