POLL: The GOP and "Socialism"

How long before the Right realizes the term "socialism" no longer scares people?

So what kind of corporation do you have, Joe? A "C" Corp? It's hilarious how you answer all the questions until you start hitting the ones that would prove you're lying

You know what the best part of having a corporate charter is? Not telling you what kind.

You already admitted you don't have a corporation, you're a sole proprietor. Try keeping your lies straight

Of course insurance companies don't pay claims no questions asked, they have to verify that you're covered for the procedure you're asking for. You still think insurance is binary. You have it or you don't and if you have it they have to pay for everything. That isn't how insurance works.

That would be fine if they listed out "We won't pay for this procedure" up front... they don't do that.

Instead they pulled crap like declaring things pre-existing conditions...

OK, so that would mean that you are a sole proprietor. You don't have a corporation. If you had a corporation, an attorney would set that up, not your accountant.

Again, believe what you want, I don't care.

Seriously? You want policies to say what they DON'T cover?

It's what you said. Your accountant handles it. That means it's a sole proprietorship. Not swift on the uptake, are you, Sport?

Again, just sign what they put in front of me.

How do you know my tax guy isn't also an attorney?

Because if he was an attorney and a CPA, then he wouldn't be doing individual tax returns. At least not for small clients. He'd be way too expensive.

Also, you would be getting two bills, not one and signing two forms, not one. You'd have to do a business tax return and an individual tax return. And again, that would be way more expensive.

Also, if you had a corporation, you'd have to know that. There are too many implications that he'd have to talk to you about. My attornisys and CPA work for me. I make the decisions on legal and tax strategies. They don't just tell me where to sign.

Also, everything you said about what you do even if it's true points to that you'd do a sole proprietorship. You only have your personal tax form to complete and you can still write off most of your expenses, including your healthcare.

You haven't given any reason that you would need a corporation. There would be a few more benefits of having a corporation, but the cost wouldn't justify it. You could write off a few more things, but not enough to make up for the cost. Again, that's even believing everything you claimed about being the highest paid resume writer in the country

Seriously? You want policies to say what they DON'T cover?

Actually, I've explained to you what I want.

I want every American to be covered for procedures and treatments that their doctors determine are necessary. This should be done as a public service because this is what a decent society does.

You are the one who thinks that poor children should die because big corporations can't make a profit treating them..

I'm sorry I have to keep pointing out what an awful human being you are. Since you aren't going to ever make an effort to be a better human being, it seems kind of pointless.

It's what you said. Your accountant handles it. That means it's a sole proprietorship. Not swift on the uptake, are you, Sport?

Frankly, I let him handle that.... I don't worry about it. Maybe I should review this year, as this is the first year I'm doing it exclusively, but he tells me it works, and I'm good with that.

Again, not in the business to do paperwork. I'm about helping people... I know this is a concept you don't understand, that someone would start a business to help people.

Yes, you want socialism where everything is covered but nothing is paid and they put you on wait lists for emergency, life saving procedures until long after you're dead. Yippee, yay, blessed government!

And yes, you need to understand your taxes since you erroneously think that being a business saves you your employer portion of your payroll taxes. No matter what kind of business you have, it doesn't. You also need to learn what's deductible since you aren't saving receipts for your accountant

Yup... Funny, Canada has that and funny, they have better health care than we do spending half as much money.

And as long as you're healthy and just want routine care, you're fine. Canadians also die more from cancer and cardiovascular disease than Americans and wait lists are longer than the life expectancy of many on them.

Basic logic would tell you that the government can't go around paying for expensive procedures, Joe. I mean think about it

There are ideas and elements of socialism that can happily coexist with our capitalism and make things better for everybody.
Yep. I would think that a reasonable person would understand that this all lies along a continuum, that you're not either "socialist" or "not socialist". But it sure does seem like there are a lot of people who can't seem to grasp that.
.
That is complete bullshit.

Perhaps you could expand on that a bit. Do you not see anything in between America and, say, Venezuela on the planet?

Okay, the thing is, Cancer and Cardiovascular is what you die of when nothing else kills you.... the fact more of them die of, well, pretty much the inevitability of death, tells me they are probably doing it right.

I have.

We spend more per person than any other country... and we get the worst results.

So let's talk about what really bothers you... it's not the quality of health care, it's your morbid fear that poor people can get the same quality of health care that you do.

Um ... yeah ... The reason I don't want to pay your bills for you is because I don't want you to have the medical care, that's right Joe, that's the reason ...

Um ... yeah ... The reason I don't want to pay your bills for you is because I don't want you to have the medical care, that's right Joe, that's the reason ...

Well, we've already established you are an awful person, but most Libertarians are.

Health care is a right, not a commodity. Period.

In that sentence, I'm not even a Libertarian. So how did you and the voices in your head establish what kind of person I am?

I think people who earned money should keep it. You think government should rob people at gunpoint and redistribute it to people who didn't. Yeah, Joe, you're the humanitarian.

That's what socialism is all about, greed. That's why horse's asses like you overwhelmingly go to the Democrat party.

This is one of your most dickish comments though. I don't want to pay for your health insurance. Which is true. But it's not because it's your bill, it's not mine. It's only because I don't want you to get healthcare coverage. The "awful person" is clear, Joe. That's your standard, not mine. You constantly compare what you have to other people. Wealth envy, greed. So you just assume others are like you. You see the world through green colored glasses.

That's what socialism is all about, that's why it appeals to you. That's why you want it

I think people who earned money should keep it.

So do I. After they've paid their fair share for the civilization that allowed them to be rich to start with.

This is the problems with Libertarians.... you guys are all for civilization, you just don't like the heavy lifting- Paying your taxes, serving in the military (too many rules for you guys, to be sure), following sensible laws.

You see, this is where you are confused, buddy. No matter whether or not it's Cigna or Medicare, it's all "Socialist". Either you are paying more in than you are taking out (Which for most of my working adult life, has been the case) or you are taking more out than you paid in that year. (Which is what happened in the two years I got to dance with Cigna.)

The thing is, I paid for health insurance. Every year. Like clockwork. I have not been without insurance since 1996, and frankly, as a last resort, I could probably get treatment at a VA hospital. (Because I did some of that heavy lifting you couldn't be bothered with.) And then Cigna screwed me.

I just happen to think the government can run it better than Cigna can... or at least more justly.

But if you are a fucked up human being, you are totally okay with a CHILD DYING OF A TREATABLE DISEASE BECAUSE SHE IS POOR. That is what makes you a fucked up human being.

Libertarians are anarchists! Your go to line that is just the equivalent of saying your name is Joe and you're stupid as shit.

The rest of your babble that buying insurance from a private company is socialism is just your crossing the T and dotting the I on how stupid you are

There are no policies that even come close to socialism in america. Another useless post about something nonexistent.

Oh, no, you guys aren't anarchists... you're hypocritical children. You love the parts of civilization where your rights and privileges are protected... you just don't like it when the other guys are.

The rest of your babble that buying insurance from a private company is socialism is just your crossing the T and dotting the I on how stupid you are

Yes, we knew that was too scary of a concept for you. Because most people have their insurance paid for by an employer or a union, and the only way that insurance companies can operate is with government subsidies... but man, you just say, "Hey, let's get rid of these corrupt middle men who really add no value and go straight up socialism" and you absolutely shit your pants.

That a poor person might get the same level of treatment that you do? The horror. The Horror!

Then what word would you use to call Welfare? Medicaid? The CDC? Farm subsidies? Corporate subsidies? The VA? The EPA? The National Weather Service?

Should we call them "saxophones" to avoid what they really are? Do you really want to pretend you don't know what non-essential government costs and services our income taxes pay for?

The degrees of government involvement, cost, breadth, depth, and control exist on a continuum. I know it makes this a little more complicated, I realize that talk radio avoids this obvious fact, but it's really true.

There are several countries with degrees of governmental involvement and control between us and Venezuela. Really. I swear. Cross my heart. And I'll bet you could think of a few.
