The impression I get is that at least they're safe from drug-cartels, rapists, and murderers now.

BTW, I wonder if immigrant children were ever separated from their families when they traveled to the US in the early 1900s.

As to "trauma". These illegals are saying they FLEE BECAUSE OF TRAUMA. Is it more traumatic to know that your children are away from that, being housed, fed and given shelter, but separate from you, than to subject them to that in their home country?

Guess they don't have to come here then, do they?

The reality is that the Democratic Party is on a mission to replace Anglo Voters with Latino Voters ASAP.

Those who believe migrants will vote for a Democrat is not a given, since most of the migrants are Catholic and conservative, and would be evangelicals and vote in the manner the church would lead. That is opposition to abortion.

However the hate and fear of them by the Republican Party's current leaders, whose lack of empathy for their plight, would push them to vote for those who protect them from the Draconian policies of Trump&Co, if and only if they could vote which has become more and more difficult do to this drumbeat of voter fraud (even for those who have voted legally for decades and then find themselves unable to vote since absurd rules are imposed by R Governors).

There is nothing rational coming from the W. H., nor any responsible leadership in the Congress, to do anything moral as the former First Lady Laura Bush stated today.

The immigration mess has been going on long before Trump or Obama was President this is a mess both parties have created and made worse over the years and neither has shown any real interest in cleaning it up.
