According to Reagan, he didn't know anything about what Admiral Poindexter and Ollie North were doing in the basement of the WH regarding Iran Contra. So, you would think that conservatives would have been outraged that North hijacked Reagan's presidency and put his administration at risk. But oddly enough, conservatives hailed North as a hero. If you believe Reagan's story (that he didn't know what was going on), then North comes about as close to treason as one can get without actually spying for the enemy and giving them information on your national defenses.

So, was North a hero? Was Reagan a clueless figurehead? Or was Reagan a complicit liar and Ollie was just carrying out his orders?

In terms of sheer crapulence and general loss of life, the Iran-Contra affair was the worst thing in my lifetime.

How many lives were lost?

Who knows how many people the contras murdered with those funds. They used to roam around with death squads, when they were in power. I'm sure they didn't suddenly get religion when they weren't.

You left the Iraq war off that list?

lol

You mean that war both republican and democrats argued and voted for??? :eusa_shifty:

Only after Rumsfeld and W lied to the american people and the democrats in congress that Saddam "Has WMD's and we know where they are" which was a flat out lie.
W and company lied and stated that the US was in immediate danger and that we were going to get hit with another terror attack if we didn't raid Iraq right away, all of which was complete bullshit.

Many Americans can never return to Central America without worrying about being picked up as war criminals. Sandanistans have long, long memories, as well as those of El Salvador.

The goal is to undermine the Sandinista regime. This ten-year war is fought at the cost of 60, 000 lives, 178 billion dollars, and the Nicaraguan infrastructure and ..

I was outraged at North.

Iran/Contra along with Reagan creating the Taliban that later attacked us on 9/11

For quite some time, Osama Bin Laden was a hero to conservatives.

Who knows..maybe he still is.. :eusa_eh:

They let him go.

why isn't forcing colin powell to repeat lies about WMD's on the list?

or letting thousands of people die in new york because of baby bush's incompetence?

but benghazi is a scandal?

pathetic

So, you are blaming a small arms deal with the death of 60000, does that mean that since Obama gave direct military support in Libya he is now responsible for all the deaths that have since occurred? Like the four Americans?
