the poll says that 7 out of 10 republican rightwingnuts thinks the government hurts liberties...

unless of course those same rightwingnuts are talking about a husband's right to take his wife off of life support...

or the right of gays to marry...

or my dominion over my own body.

or the right to keep my money

or the right to homeschooled my children

Federal, State, and Local taxes are confiscating freedom at every turn.

Rampant regulation suffocates freedom at every turn.

The public school monopoly is a den of pre-determined programming.

Our founding fathers knew government was, and is, always a threat to the freedom of the citizens.
That's why they wrote the constitution, the federalist papers, the bill of rights, and created the system of checks and balances to protect the people from the government.
the people, in the united groups known as states, created the federal government, not the other way around. The federal government was described as a necessary evil by our founding fathers for a reason. The truths that they held as 'self-evident' are as true now as they were then.

All true - and it would appear that most Americans would agree according to this latest CNN poll.

But here is the real question to be answered. If we had a Republican president right now, would those seven out of ten Republicans still have answered the same way?

Nope. That was proven from 2000 to 2009.

Wrong again.

Republicans with their anti gay, anti education, anti science, pro war, pro torture, anti middle class, couple all that with their interest in bills like the Patriot act and the situation is very clear. Republicans are a much greater threat than government.

Of course it is. More & more people just want the Government to get off their backs and out of their lives. The Government is just doing too much at this point. I believe Congress should only meet a couple times a year. They are is session far too often. I mean how many new Laws do we really need? It's to the point where when Congress goes away on Recess,the people take a big sigh of relief. The Congress now causes so much dissension and division in this country. They should just meet less often. I know the Socialists hate this idea but i really do believe i'm right.

The Government doesn't have all the answers and actually creates most of the serious problems in the end. Basically they create all the problems and then attempt to fix those problems. More & more people are agreeing with me on this but i'm afraid things are going to get much worse though. Too many Americans believe that the Government will take care of them and solve all their problems. That is very sad and dangerous thinking. It's time to limit our Government's power & control. Unfortunately i see Third World Misery ahead for this nation if we continue down this Socialist road. I guess we'll see where it all ends up though. Time will tell.

Government is getting too involved into our lives. They want to regulate and control everything. I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to chew my hot dog for me in order to prevent me choking on it.
