It appears those answering these polls are not well informed. FDR is one of the worst presidents this country has ever had. We have him to thank for a long list of unsustainable government programs that the framers would frown upon. He passed legislation that silenced his opposers, making it illegal for them to exercise their first amendment right and speak out against his administration. He served 16 consecutive years in office as the closest thing America has ever had to a king or dictator.
Here is a worthy question. If FDR was such a great president, why did Congress draft legislation that would limit the Presidency to only two term limits immediately after Roosevelt's death? The law was passed before his body was even put in the ground. FDR doesn't belong in the same category as Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln. Anyone who thinks so needs to read their history.
This forum is NOT for peddling your crap.

I agree with that 100 percent, I'd also like to add the Emergency Banking Act of 1933 which robbed money from the hands of citizens, by seizing gold and silver assets people had in banks and outlawing private ownership coin and bullion, only to be replaced with worthless notes. FDR was nothing more than a socialist coddling thief.
RetardIt's always amusing to watch people who are comfortable criticize FDR. You won't meet many people who lived through the depression and World War II who feel that way.
Like it or not, all Presidents are products of their time. FDR was the right man at the right time to lead America through two major crisis's.
Had it not been for Vietnam, I'd choose LBJ. No other president did more for civil rights.
Ill have those ******* voting Democratic for the next 200 years. "I have voted against the so-called anti-lynching bill." - LBJ
Let's not forget public education and public housing

In case you didn't realize there was a depression from 1920-1921 that most people have never heard of because it was so short and was easily corrected by the common sense of conservative ideology. The man behind the fix deserves some respect and almost never gets any appreciation, and believe it or not it was Warren G. Harding. There's a lot of history to learn from, especially when it comes to economics, but most of the valuable stuff is forgotten.
The correction was not by Harding (who was a journalist) but by his Treasury Secretary, who at first wanted to give a tax cut only to the rich but was forced to give it to the middle class as well. That, along with consumer demand, corrected the RECESSION. Words have meanings, guy. Use them correctly.

Not quite, The federal reserve skrewed the pooch shortly after WW1 and made some miscalculations regarding inflation, lending rates, and reality, like they did not too long ago. Harding's recovery had nothing to do with the tax rate and everything to do with cutting government and it's spending. He also convinced workers that lowering the earning wage to reflect the state of the economy so there would not be the domino effect collapse like we have been seeing in this days economic failure. It's a hard pill to swallow when times are tough, but taking home a little less bacon is better than the alternative of mass unemployment, bankruptcy, and foreclosure.
As a centrist Republican, I know the lefties often exaggerate and do a lot of bleeding heart crying, but the far right reactionaries out right distort and lie. Look at this thread. They lie, they lie, and they lie again. The GOP has to get rid of them in order to return to power with a great program, with great leaders, with great credibility.

BWAHAAAHAAA, the truth is hard to take isn't it? You can take a chapter summary from a middle school history book and a mix it with some propaganda, suddenly you're an expert, right. I know, I know your liberal icons say it isn't true and they never lie right?

Quit your whining, son. You are a loon. You are a liar. You just are a simpleton. Nothing else can explain your sickness. So, stop whining, start thinking, and move on with your life. America is never going to be the place you want, never.
You can start with dude and some of his cronies. daveman and Mr. F are even beyond that. They are economic predators, with consciences that would have fit right in with the robber barons of the 19th century. Guys, we are in the 21st century, and we are not going back to Reaganite plus policies, and, you libertarians (?), your hopes will never happen.
