Poll: Conservative or Liberal? And your beliefs?

What are you views and what do you believe?

None of the above.

I'm a socialist.

I'm not a liberal because I understand the need for confrontation and demand.

I'm not a conservative because that's nasty. :eusa_angel:

I chose Atheist because I deny revelation; In other words, I don't think any of the current religions are, even a little bit, correct.

But I entertain the thought that there may be a higher power that we don't understand. S'pose I could more aptly be described as agnostic.

I didn't want to vote "OTHER".... which woulda been more appropriate, but tally wise woulda given the LibTURDS an advantage.

I am an Independent who is vehemently anti-LibTURD.

I consider the EXTREME LibTURDS as the ENEMY WITHIN.

The EXTREME LibTURDS are more dangerous than the Al Queda. NOT in the sense that these arseholes will gruesomely murder their victims like the Al Queda.....but that the EXTREME LibTURDS are the INSIDIOUS CANCER that destroys the Nation with its propaganda, and legislation.

The Roman Empire comes to mind.

And, I am an Atheist ~ 80%, Agnostic ~20%.

you had nothing to check because there was no box that said 'nutbar'. :cuckoo:

I voted none of the above. The poll is two dichotomies that imo are cancerous to political debate.

It's not liberals versus conservatives, and Christians versus atheists. What about Jews, Taoists, Muslims, pagans? What about moderates, or libertarians? Are they just supposed to all be lumped into the "other" category?

I participated because you seem well-intentioned, but to be blunt it's a shitty poll. It's too black/white to be truly representative of all the different views expressed on this board.

If you had to label me, the closest would be secular humanism, but I'm not "part" of any organized anything, religionwise. And I am an non-theist - meaning I don't take any part in organized religion. I am registered as an independent voter.

You left Muslims
You left out Jews
You left out agnostics

In short, you left out anyone who follows a faith other than Christianity. I disapprove of that so I will not vote in your stupid, discriminatory, poll.

Agnostic libertarian.

But at this point, reverting to Catholicism/Episcopalianism is vastly more likely to shed unto me a few pennies from Heaven, sooner than me collecting back any of what's been stolen from me to prop up the OASI "trust fund".

My sincerest apologies to have offended you at all. Really I'm sorry and so sorry if I hurt your feelings. That was not my intent at all, and not trying to leave anyone out. No problem if you don't want to participate. Thanks for your input.

I know its not the "best" poll, its not for a scientific study, I was personally curious of how many Athiests and Christians are Conservative or Liberal; wanted to take the poll. And I believe we can only have 10 lines in a poll I think, and I took up 7 with even these.

So anything else for example...Jewish, Buddhist, Islamic, Agnostic, etc... would be "Other".
Or if your Conservative and Jewish, it would be "I'm a Conservative, Other".

Please, I'm really sorry to anyone who may have felt left out; the poll wasn't meant for that intent. I tried to make a place by putting "other" under each, and an "other" at the end for independants, or what have you.

Thank you all for your replies thus far :)

So there is nothing else besides conservative and liberal? I must be a freak of nature.

No way, not at all, you are no freak of nature. Replies are being taken into consideration and I added a note above. If you are independant or other, feel free to put "Other" or share here (if you want). Or not..totally understand. There were only so many poll lines anyhow also. Thanks and take care : )

Complex question, oversimplified answers.

"Left" overall on the usual message board spectrum, but that covers a lot of ground.

I don't talk about my faith much on the board, it can be a distraction and it's not up for debate. But I do have one.

I yam what I yam and that's all that I yam....:D

I think maybe this thread would have gone over better if it was in the religion and ethics subforum, because the thrust of the OP seems to be how Christianity weighs into specific ideologies.

If you go with moderates, classical liberals, conservatives, liberals, and apathetics as the political groups with each having a "yes, I'm Christian" and a "no, I'm not Christian" option, you might get a more reflective poll.
