This is an important base that put Obama over the top in 2008. Does this mean he’s in trouble?

Yeah it does. The youth vote in this country is switching sides and democrats are frantic about it.

In the four years since President Obama swept into office… a new corps of men and women have come of voting age with views shaped largely by the recession. And unlike their counterparts in the millennial generation who showed high levels of enthusiasm for Mr. Obama at this point in 2008, the nation’s first-time voters are less enthusiastic about him, are significantly more likely to identify as conservative and cite a growing lack of faith in government in general, according to interviews, experts and recent polls.
[...]
Among all 18- to 29-year-olds, the poll found a high level of undecided voters; 30 percent indicated that they had not yet made up their mind. And turnout among this group is expected to be significantly lower than for older voters.
“We’re also seeing that these younger members of this generation are beginning to show some more conservative traits. It doesn’t mean they are Republican. It means Republicans have an opportunity [John Della Volpe, director of polling at the Harvard Institute of Politics, said].”
New York Times: Obama Losing the Youth Vote to Mitt Romney | Growing Up in a Recession | TheBlaze.com

"When you don't have a record to run on, you need paint your opponent as someone people should run from"--Barack Obama

Polls show that Americans under 30 are still inclined to support Mr. Obama by a wide margin. But the president may face a particular challenge among voters ages 18 to 24. In that group, his lead over Mitt Romney — 12 points — is about half of what it is among 25- to 29-year-olds, according to an online survey this spring by the Harvard Institute of Politics. And among whites in the younger group, Mr. Obama’s lead vanishes altogether

why do you ignore that part? Such Willful Ignorance lol

This is where big money could make a huge difference. Many people don't keep up with REAL news but will watch the fux lies or TV lies from the right. These are the people who could make the difference in the election. Add to that the votes the R is outright stealing and they just might squeak through.

If that happens, say goodbye to every cent you've got or will ever hope to have and say hello to a long LONG depression.

Nothing captures the youth vote quite like crusty old men who remind them of their dad in the worst possible ways.

That's no way to speak about Joe Biden, Cowman! He's a little senile but hardly "crusty".

How many of these young voters will vote with a party that wants to end womens rights and spews hate on gays and minorities?

Probably none. But since there is no such party, i dont think we have much to worry about. Obama is going down.

But isn't it tell how the Leftists want to keep feeding the youth the same tired tripe and expecting them to stay on the plantation?

Not for long.

They seriously underestimate the youth. The Youth are educating themselves on the real world in record numbers. It's amazing what 4 years of hardship will cause people to do.

I hope this is a good thing. Obviously they are mad at Obama for not doing anything to help the economy. I don't think they would go to Romney as I see him as an elitist, egotistical, flip flopper who doesn't understand what its like to be poor. I hope they turn to write in Dr Paul or Gary Johnson.Johnson is pro marijuana legalize, anti war,he has business experience, that is who I would think they would turn to...

I think you mean 12.

they watched their families lose their homes after Bush crashed the world economy.

why would they vote for the republicans?

so it's bush's fault they couldnt pay for their loans?

Yes.

Bush fvcked up this economy so bad with the tax cuts and deregulation that created that huge housing bubble and jobs getting outsourced.

This led to state governments getting less revenue.

This led universities to raise tuition and cut scholarships and put it on the students. Then you have for profit universities who are suppose to teach for a trade yet give student no practical experience to land a good job and only create huge student loan debt that keeps accruing interest and make payments late into retirement.

So now you have kids who were made to go into manfacturing jobs and other trade that have been shipped overseas. So now they almost all go to some post secondary education and get training for jobs that aren't going to get them paid well enough to support themselves or a family, now have huge debt and we have a consumption base economy that is horrible because we don't create anything.

We gave the rich lower taxes and they went on to destroy our economy in the process. They had their chance and these "smart people" really were quite stupid and don't deserve the praise they get from the right. Its time to make them start investing in America instead of India with no strings attached.

You left out where Boosh let the illegals run rampant and told us they only want the jobs the we don't want. BS, he didn't even try to deal with that issue.

If they are old enough to vote they are old enough to remember Bush

Just a heads up for you:

Bush is not running for president and
Obama extended much of what Bush put into place.

Not that I'm a Bush fan but you need to get real!
