You know, I've always thought that America was a pretty great place to live, and there are lots of things we have here that people in other countries wish they had.
With that being said, yes, we are pretty good, but we aren't the superpower that we were after WWII, and we damn sure aren't as productive as we were in the 50's and 60's. And, the middle class is shrinking. Maybe if we could bring back unions and stop using robots to replace people in manufacturing, we could bring back a strong middle class.
As far as America being the greatest country in the world? No. There are other countries that are doing a bit better than America right now.
Nor do I agree with the American exceptionalism thing. Yeah, we've got a decent country, but it's not so great that we should expect other countries to grovel at our feet.
