Yeah. He lived to offer his services a few years later to the Soviet Premier Yuri Andropov, against Ronald Reagan.
 

It makes no sense. Why would anyone have wanted to kill Ted Kennedy at that point? He was nothing like Jack and Bobby. He was a hollow suit. He couldn't even beat a badly damaged Jimmy Carter in the Democratic primary, who would go on to lose in one of the biggest landslides in American history. Teddy had already proved himself to be an ineffective politician, and he was crippled by the legacy of Chappaquiddick.
