    i am trying to find some thing out for a friend. does anyone know a website that has such info as the unemployment rate of the U. S.?

    A "political website" might be the last place to look for facts. Try these sites: Bureau of Labor Statistics Home Page and Unemployment rates - Unemployment rates by state from CNNMoney. As of April, South Dakota had the lowest unemployment rate (2.6%) and Michigan had the highest (6.9%). California was at 6.2%, Ohio 5.6%, Illinois 5.4%, Pennsylvania 5.0%, Florida 4.9%, New York 4.7%, and Texas 4.1%.

    Try googling unemployment statistics for the US.
