Political Reality: The GOP’s: “Last Best Hope”

No rdean, the world is not as you want it to be. But keep dreaming.

I'm shocked that a right winger would say that. Their view of reality and reality are commonly known as "divergent" views.

When people are wrong about everything, the two wars, 2.4 trillion dollar tax cuts to improve the economy, mystical creation, sending jobs to China, and so on, you would think, that as some point, they would "reassess" their views on what they consider to be "reality".

In other words, if you are wrong about a and b and c and d and so on, then statistically, you are closer and closer to being wrong about "everything".

That makes you, just plain "wrong".

What a simple, two dimensional fellow you are, rdean.

How many democrats voted for war in Afghanistan and in Iraq?
Personally I thought we should have taken out Saddam in 91 when we were about 200 miles from Baghdad. And when we finally did take him out I thought we should have packed up and left.
So we can disagree on what is reality, But you paint everyone to your right with the same brush. And that is a racist brush on top of being the wrong brush.

I thought Saddam was connected to 9/11. Most, if not all of my friends also did. Where did they get that idea?

It taught me a valuable lesson about the Republican Party. Not everyone has learned that lesson.

I've no idea where you got that from. President bush flat out said that there was no connection. I guess you didn't listen to him either.

I believed our president. Because he lied and tricked the American people doesn't make us bad, it makes him "evil".

Bush laughs about lying to the American People. Came so easy to him.

They got the idea that Saddam was connected to 9/11 from Oliver Stone's movie "W."

Sadly, none of you seem capable of separating reality and fantacy.

A Zogby International poll from 2006 found: Almost 90% think war is retaliation for Saddam's role in 9/11

Zogby International

"W" came out in 2008.

Samson, you have to do better than that. I don't remember you being so easily caught in "bullshit". You may be losing your edge.

So, if 9/11 wasn't the "real" reason, then what was it?

This election will see a winding down of the Republican Party.

The party is not growing.

The Republicans have alienated the:

Blacks

Hispanics

Gays

Feminists

Atheists

Except for Bible Studies, those with 4 year degrees vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. The higher the degree, the less likely to vote Republican.

The base of the Republican Party is made up of older whites who are obviously NOT reproducing. The Republicans will lose many of these people once they understand that their Republican leadership wants to end Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid as we know it. People like Joe Miller, Sarah Palin, Sharon Angle, Michele Bachman and others.

Right now, they are concentrating on the “black, Muslim, terrorist, Fascist/Socialist/Communist/Marxist, man child, Kenyan illegal alien” who sits in the “WHITE” House.

Every time they smear the president with a racist or untrue tag, or attack another minority, they lose another chance at growing their party.

This is truly the Republican Party's "Last Best Hope".

Yet another "the republicans are the root of all evil" thread from dean.

Shocker.

I watched the first 10 minutes of that farce.

So, if 9/11 wasn't the "real" reason, then what was it?

Who knows?

Bush's book hasn't come out........... yet.

However, we can speculate:

1. Iraq was a rouge state
2. Iraq used WMD against its enemies (and its own citizens)
3. Iraq may use the same tactics against the USA

Not really rocket science, rdean.

all true, but something else is already rising that is not the GOP but still challenges the left.

And what is left of the left? Almost nothing. Neither the Blue dogs or the progressives can stomach the dems. Everything the Dems stand for alienates America.

So we have two bankrupt parties.

Something new will replace them both. GOOD bye never tasted so sweet.

Talk about Political Fantasy? lol! The GOP is anything but winding down. With the coming Redistricting, the Red States are on a rapid rise while the Blue States are in rapid decline. The GOP will actually become stronger in the coming years. I don't know where these Socialist/Progressive nutters get their info. Man,it seems like they get dumber & dumber by the day. Red States are rising. Blue States are falling. This is fact.

It isn't
that they're getting dumber by any standard...it's that they live in an alternate Universe they created for themselves apart from reality the rest of us have to contend with.

OK enlighten us. What do you think will happen in 2010 and 2012? Which alternate universe do you think the voters will opt for as the better option?
