I went from 'liberal' in my teens; conservative while in college; moved towards libertarian-unfortunately there was a dearth of candidates; to GOP; now just looking for someone strong on WOT, tough on taxes/spending for social programs, supportive of property rights, against making 'laws' for every conceivable issue.

I mostly relate to the Constitutional party, whose bottom line a strict interpretation of the Constitution. It's behind *much* smaller government, stamping out judicial activism, and the return of most governmental powers to the states.

I'm an individualist - a very moderate moderate. If I had to choose between a Republican or a Democrat for president today, I would probably select a Republican. I think that "consensual crimes" (gamboling, prostitution, homosexual behavior, etc.) should be legalized. I suppose that I'm a Democrat in that respect. Yet, I believe in us having a strong federally controlled national defense. Punishment should be more severe for violent criminals and abortion should be outlawed but for the health of the mother, rape, or incest. Therefore, I suppose that I'm part Republican. Yes, I compromise.

I think its interesting that while we have several hard core Democrats/liberals on the board none of them have been willing to name themselves as a Democrat.
