Your views call roughly the same amount of government with just a bit more liberty than we currently have in the United States today. Your views are probably best served by a nearly equal mix of Democrats and Republicans in the legislatures, as long as you choose the correct Democrats and Republicans.

Or, if you want to make sure government shrinks a bit, you could throw a few Libertarians into the mix. But just a few. The Libertarian Party calls for radical cuts in government far beyond what you want. Think of a tub of cold bathwater. To get it warm enough to be comfortable, you can add scalding hot water to bring the temperature up to ideal. Approximately 10% of the takers of this quiz scored in this area, 36% for all within the centrist circle.

You desire substantially less government control of economic activity and somewhat less government control over personal activity than is presently the case in the U.S. I used to classify this area as part of “Moderate Libertarian” but got many objections; I guess calling you a moderate libertarian is akin to calling a liberal Democrat a “Moderate Communist.”

Your views would be best represented by a mix of Libertarian and Republican representatives—assuming that it was possible to get a significant number of Libertarians elected. The Libertarian Party is still dominated by people far more radical than you though there is an ongoing effort to make the LP more inclusive and less radical. If you have the patience and willingness do deal with infighting, you may want to join this effort. Or, you might find my proposed new party more to your liking.

Approximately 8% of the takers of this quiz scored in this area.

You want government out of your personal life. On the other hand, you want more government in your economic life. This puts you closest to either the Green Party or the radical wing of the Democratic Party. You might even consider yourself a socialist, or a “true” communist (as opposed to the “state capitalists” who ran the old Soviet Union). Approximately 3% of the takers of this quiz scored in this area, 18% for all liberals outside the centrist circle.

Almost. I don't really care that much about gun ownership. I think there is room for capitalism, but I would like more social programs and better funding for them so that they WILL work well. Capitalism should just be the cherry on top. I don't really like a huge central government or huge multi-national corporations which seem to be just as powerful as a central government. Let us Rocky Mountain climbing bum/dirt bag hippies do what we have to to get by without making the already rich richer just to survive.

Political Test # 1

Economic Left/Right: 0.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.56

So I am shifting Right now--I blame it on all the Conservative Talk Radio I listen to!! They are CORRUPTING me!!(actually--I tend to shift opposite of the party in control of our great country. )

Political Test #2

Conservative/Progressive score: 9
You are a social progressive. You generally consider yourself a humanist first. You probably think that religion and patriotism go too far in society. You probably consider yourself to be a citizen of Earth first rather than a citizen of your country.

Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 5
You are a Moderate Capitalist. You support an economy that is by and large a free market, but has public programs to help people who can't help themselves or need a little help. Pretty much you believe in the American economy how it currently is.

Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 3
You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism.

Pacifist/Militarist score: 2
You're a Pacifist. You are angered that the United States thinks it should dominate the world through its military force. You think that the only time war is necessary is when we are in direct danger of being attacked. You also believe the US spends way too much of its money on defense, as we can practically cut it in half and still easily defend ourselves, and use that money to fix all our economic problems.

Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Democrat

Political Test # 3

The RED DOT on the Chart shows where you fit on the political map.

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 90%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 50%.

According to your answers, the political group that agrees with you most is...

LIBERALS usually embrace freedom of choice in personal

matters, but tend to support significant government control of the

economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net"
to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation

of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations,

defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action

to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.

Assessment of the tests---Leaves me pretty confused!! I guess I am a liberal Democrat like Kucinich(Who I wanted to be president by the way)

But this presents me with a problem on economics. On one hand, I do want a Free Market system since private enterprises can address wants/needs in more acceptable manner than a cold and "ends justify the means" government that can become callous in its handling of goods. On the other hand, I do recognize that not all corporations are "honorable"--meaning that some companies do not really care about the product they make-- The bottomline is maximizing profit regardless of any harm that their product/service, or the creation of the product, could cause.

In many ways, I have come to the conclusion, in many cases privitization is of public benefit, but not in all cases.

You want government out of people's personal lives, but you appear to desire some continued government control over people's economic activities. There is no political party that represents your views. The Green Party does run many candidates with similar views, but the overall Green Party platform is much more socialistic than you are. You would need a mix of Democratic, Green, and Libertarian politicians in office to get the balance of freedom and social justice you desire. The ratio between these depends on how high up your dot is on the chart.

I'd say that's about right.

That's close to what I got, but I don't know how to post the pic!

I always save it and then download it at photobucket. After it downloads, grab the image code from underneath the picture and place it here.

There is also a place where you can scale the picture down at photobucket but I can't use it on my work laptop. It requires the newest version of flash and I don't have it.

I think the help desk would download that for me but I haven't gotten around to calling them.
