So, generally speaking, are you far right, far left, right leaning, left leaning, or centrist.

I am going to use the information from this poll and associate it with another poll that is similar, but takes into account the degree of the political spectrum of USMB members, and how USMB members perceive the political climate of the US.

After the polls die, I'll start a new thread with the results.

P.S. The polls will be public.

Far left, though that's obviously an oversimplification. I'm an anarcho-communist.

Sorry, I'm trying to put the poll on this thread. I screwed up and missed the poll check box before clicking the post button. Galdarn new fangled contraptions!

I have no extremes at all. Pretty close to center.

Ok I have no idea how to copy the graph and have no intention of paying for it.

My current score is Horizontal line ( Economic left/right) 2.75

Vertical line ( Social Libertarian/Authoritarian ) .92 (as in less then 1)

That's like moderate, right?

Or 'fence sitter'?

I am no fence sitter as evidenced by my opinions here. I have no idea why it scores me that way, but every time I have taken it I score in that area.

It could be because I have 2 sets of ideals that guide me. One is personal and one is societal. I am strongly opposed to Abortion but as long as it is legal IT MUST not be infringed. For example.

Regarding gays, I am STRONGLY opposed to Gay Marriage and opposed to making the Gay life style seem normal. But with regards to society if a stable Gay couple wants to adopt they should have that right.

Getting the picture?

Yeah. Obsession with the law that inhibits ethical consistency.

Wrong as usual. We live in a VERY large Society. My personal opinions and political beliefs are only as valid as I am able to make them via the Voting Booth.

Society as a whole is not me. It is not a human at all. It is an attempt to make a function system where the majority can get what they want and even the minorities are protected to a very specific level.

Laws do that.

I can and do oppose lots of laws, but as long as they are laws I accept and understand that society has created them and unless I can change them it is how it is. If I choose to break those laws I understand the consequences as well.

The only recent event that had me close to open rebellion would be if Gore had stolen the 2000 election.

I believe though that our differences between left and right and the cavalier manner in which the left is riding rough shod over EVERYONE could lead to open rebellion.

Sort of a useless poll without defining what each answer means - or even what each answer means to the person taking part.

Some on the 'left' think it just means pro-democracy/planet/human rights/peace/international law... but really, to assume that someone who is on the 'right' is actually AGAINST those things would be unfair and illogical.

Did anyone look at where pols show up on this poll?

They have Gordon Brown, leader of the Labour Party (Socialists) in Great Britain polling in the same quadrant as George W. Bush. If that is truly the case, then this test does not provide enough room to the right side of the scale.

Gordon Brown is a very weak social democrat, if anything. I'd describe him as a liberal democrat in the mold of Clinton and Blair, myself.

With all due respect Agna, you are falling off the chart to the bottom left, your analysis of how far left Gordon Brown is, is automatically suspect.
