i didnt like that i had to state an opinion about a few things i truly have no opinion on and some questions really werent worded well in that my answer based on the wording really didnt reflect my views

...and post results -- if you have the guts. Don't take it 3 times to try to alter it. Post 'em legitimately!!

The Political Compass - Test

Every year or two, this stupid test resurfaces on forums.

It's one of those things that is supposed to convince Libertarians they are mainstream.

Do you have two arms? So do Libertarians!!!

Do you like ice cream? So do Libertarians!!!!

The test is a giant lie of omission. It does not ask, for example, "I believe crack cocaine should be legal and as available as beer."

It does not ask, "I believe the Food and Drug Administration should be eliminated."

It does not ask, "Our military should be shrunk down to the size of a cub scout troop."

If Libertarians were honest and asked the questions which distinguish them from everyone else who likes ice cream, they would quickly discover they are literally off the chart from everyone else.

lol!!!

I wonder if the idiot who started this thread realizes that......according to the website.....he is more closely aligned with Obama than I am.

Fucking tool.

Crowd Chart

So, you point out that you are a RADICAL --- and then call me a tool??? lol!!!!

I don't presume to speak for anyone else, but at least in my case, I welcome the term "radical". I'm very aware that not many people completely share my political views - which is how it should be.

I think that LL's point was that Obama is NOT a "radical", like is so often claimed.

The Questionnaire said:
A significant advantage of a one-party state is that it avoids all the arguments that delay progress in a democratic political system.

So really, how does one answer that statement?

Certainly a one party system or dictatorship avoids the delays that a democratic system may have. And that is advantageous for those in power. That doesn't mean that one necessarily agrees with form of government even if one agrees that it is true.

You answer: "I highly disagree."

Unless you like what they have in Cuba.

"Like" doesn't enter into it. Not part of the question. You're reading emotion into it.

I agree with Alan, it's one of several flawed questions in there. Another one is the bit about equating theaters and museums to "commercialism". Then they use several terms without defining what they mean, such as "economic globalization" right in the first question. "Religious" is another one -- what's that mean? If you use terms that can mean different things to different people, you're going to end up with inconsistencies. Then there's "an eye for an eye" -- ? Astrology?? Naturally unlucky? What's that supposed to be about -- predestination?
