Polish Solidarity distances itself from Romney visit

(Reuters) - Solidarity, the trade union movement which led the Polish struggle against communist rule, distanced itself on Monday from a visit to Poland by U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney, saying he supported attacks on unions in his own country.

As Bush liked to day, "you forgot Poland."

Lech Walesa snubs Obama on Poland trip

Whoops.

OK.. That is some funny shat.

OP Ultra-Fail.

LOL

This is s:till the statement issued by Solidarity:

Regretfully, we were informed by our friends from the American headquarters of (trade union federation) AFL-CIO, which represents more than 12 million employees … that Mitt Romney supported attacks on trade unions and employees’ rights.

Solidarity was not involved in organizing Romney’s meeting with Wałęsa and did not invite him to visit Poland.

Romney's Visit To Poland Highlights Split Between Lech Walesa And Solidarity Union

Walesa, the winner of the 1983 Nobel Peace Prize, was friendlier toward Romney, telling the governor to "get your success, be successful!" Walesa split with Solidarity seven years ago over policy issues, although Solidarity still shares many of Walesa's Catholic views. (Walesa, however, has been accused of anti-Semitism, which might have caused the rift from the union.)

Walesa, like Romney, now leans far to the right, especially on social issues such as abortion and gay marriage. While the former Polish president said that Romney lacked charisma, he praised Romney for his policies and beliefs.

so? funny how you can't please everyone eh? Romney was a hit with the ones that matter and that has got to be eating the Democrats up..

Op's purpose was clear. He forgets Obama's history.

History? Or an ambiguous statement, that only a complete idiot would assume meant that the Poles decided to build death camps?

No Tick Duck. It was the TRUTH.:eusa_hand:

Yes it is the truth that only an idiot would assume the statement was referring to the Polish people. Fact: Poland never surrendered to Germany. Fact: The number of Nazi collaborators in Poland was a few thousand, in a population of 35 million. Fact: The Nazis never established a Polish government, as they had in the rest of occupied Europe. Nope, you're a complete idiot.

?

To call you stupid would be an insult to stupid people.

Wow, you're quite the debater. The fact remains that Solidarity has distanced itself from Walesa, in part due to his antisemitism. The fact remains that Solidarity spoke out officially against Romney's candidacy due to his attacks against organized labor.
