Fermanagh child abuse victims 'let down by PSNI'

Victims of child sex abuse in County Fermanagh have been let down by a "lacklustre approach" by the PSNI, a DUP peer has said.

Lord Morrow was speaking as it was revealed that 50 alleged victims have come forward during an investigation by the Impartial Reporter newspaper.

Allegations of historic sex abuse continue to make headlines each week.

Twelve women say they were abused by a former primary school principal from Irivinestown, John McElholm.

He is now dead, but many of the alleged abusers are still alive.

To date no arrests have been made.

How difficult can it be ?

When the ruling elite are the ones involved i would gather it can be quite difficult to get anything approaching justice. The elite here are trying to put the rest of us in the same boat you folks are in.

I don't understand. This should make you happy that criminals have not been arrested. And if they are arrested, they'll just let them go. What could be more pleasing to a demented liberal than that?

Its very unsatisfactory.Corpses cant defend themselves as a rule.

It would seem very much as if they were waiting for the problem to pass away as they stall the investigations.

It would also seem as if those befallen by the brain-eating Trump prions are already out in force demonstrating, empty stares and all, their utter incapacity.

The guy they name was well connected but he was a catholic so I would expect the police to have acted in this case. The politician kicking off is DUP but the Church seems to be a bit quiet on this.
They were more innocent times of course.

Does it really matter so much whether or not that guy was catholic? He shook lots of hand, was in cahoots with even more, and there's plenty of embarrassment to go around. Avoiding that way outweighs the victims' right to justice.

And no, these were not "more innocent times". Or is that some fine British irony I don't understand?
