We are not all the same.

Israel isn't the Democracy we keep telling ourselves it is. Ex: marriage outside the Jewish religion is forbidden to Jews. But I seriously doubt that America will abandon Israel or withhold funding. It is written that 'where our heart is, there our treasure is also', and 99.9% of America's heart is with this tiny feisty nation. Doesn't mean we have to hate the other ME countries. So we may gripe a little, but this land is Holy to us, and their lease as God's chosen isn't up yet.
