Pledge to America--What do you think about it?

It looks like something a party would put out when they think they have the election in the bag.

Kind of a prevent - defense thing.

It does look like a Political slaughter.

The really strange thing about all this is that the Dems campaigns appearance of sheep in a grassy field!

But then--what can they run on? The Healthcare Bill? TARP? A trillion dollar Keysian influenced Stimulus Bill that has yet to produce jobs?

Wait--those are not things the Dems can run on! Those are things the Republicans can argue against. OH POOR DEMOCRATS!

Of all the cornball antics I have seen, isn't this a repeat of the contract with America of 1994? Something tells me that the Republicans will try ANYTHING to regain power, including risking the temperment of the American people.

I mean--have they forgotten that they already broke their promises. What good is renewing the promise you broke going to do.

I consider this a 3 in terms of political adeptness. Wait--make that a 2, it turns out they did nothing but repeat all the things they said they were going to do over the past 2 years.

The Reps did not have to write that down! They could Youtube it!

The only thing I see bad about it. Is it does not go far enough, and does not seem to really hold anyone's feet to the fire about actually doing what they say in it.

The contract had over 300 candidates sign it, and spelled out specific Bills they would vote on in the first 100 Days of office. This seems like meaningless words to me.

Not impressed.

I want action not words.

Welllll, they have to get elected first in order to take action.

True enough. I just think if you are going to do something like the Contract with America. Then do something like that. Put the actual Bills you will vote on down on paper, and sign it. Give us a time table. Something we can point to and say. You said you would do this by now damn it!

That is a good idea except one problem.

They could name something that is not actually popular and damage their election chances.

Of course, considering how the Democrats are viewed by the general populace, the Republicans could say "The Democrats are right! Vote for the Democrats" and still win with overwhelming margins!

Go through the picture book, and see. Look and See. See and Sing. Sing Along With GOP!

"Boy, the way Glen Miller played. Songs that made the Hit Parade. Guys like us, we had it made. Those were the days! Didn't need no welfare state. Everybody pulled his weight Gee, our old LaSalle (a car) ran great. Those were the days! And you knew where you were then! Girls were girls and men were men. Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again. People seemed to be content. Fifty dollars paid the rent. Freaks were in a circus tent. Those were the days! Take a little Sunday spin, go to watch the Dodgers win. Have yourself a dandy day that cost you under a fin (five dollar bill). Hair was short and skirts were long. Kate Smith really sold a song. I don't know just what went wrong! Those Were the Days!"

In GOP land, you can still hear the toilet flushing, even from a few rooms away!

Therein is the modern GOP Pledge to America! Herbert Hoover is even included.

The President of Iran has managed to point out that the real impact of GOP Capitalism is the decimation of hundreds of thousands of Middle Eastern Lives, based on dubious, U. S. Analysis and planning. He does inlcude 9/11 in the planning,. Everyone else knows that the GOP had actually taken the several days. . . Before the event. . . .Off! They could not have been in on the planning at all(?)! They clearly knew nothing(?). . . .at all!

Osama bin laden went one way. To "hunt him down," the GOP went in the oppositie direction. Even now, Barack Obama knows that the GOP wants to go in still a different reverse direction!

Well the core issues that I would want them to put on it. Are all very Popular with the Public.

TARP. That came from the Republicans.

The first Stimulus Bill, once again - Republican.

Actually, in 10 years under Bush, they were the ONLY things Republicans got right. Isn't that funny?

The Republicans "Plague on America".

First, they make a "Contract ON America" and now a "Plague". Well, at least it's in line with their policies.

The Plague On America, aka, A MoonShine On America, aka, The GOP Pie-In-The-Face For America: Actually intends the hoarding of the currency, that anyone can guess now needs to be spent.

What are business owners complaining about? A lack of paying customers. What is in the GOP, Picture-Party Plan? Hoard all of the Stimulus Money now current unspent. They even take the immediate tax savings away from small businesses--in the Health Care plan--that that are there to keep hard-pressed business owners from cutting out the health plans they now have for all of their people!

For people who do have high deductible health plans, the mainly propose to make Health Savings plans easier. Hoarding, and no spending., is proposed. A business owner will get no help from that.

Auto dealers know that Cash For Clunkers brought other people even in to look and see. Some analysts have focused only on the clunker cars themselves, about to fail at any rate--and made in America, before Socialist Motor Cars, U. S. A. That too, had to be created from spending.

Toward the end of the Picture Book, there is a one page pie chart showing all the federal spending. It is just there, to see. Apparently it is all to be cut, or something.

The whole thing is stupid, and stupidly put together!

"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!"
(Maybe Spend More on poison blankets, and rotted corn: Is what they have mind for Global Economics, in the older way! Iran President knows that way! It is on-going even now!)

Pledge to America, my ass. Bunch of losers. You would think that we would learn, but, no, our political ass in the GOP continues to be reamed by Big Business. Republicans, the rest of America will not follow this: it goes back to the old Bush policies.

I heard a little bit about there pledge yesterday am on the morning local news, and I just don't agree with the handful of things that I heard they stand for....on this new list.

If you think the stuff they spelled out in this Pledge are even close to how Bush governed. You have serious issues.

What spending did Bush cut?
Did Bush secure our border?

About the only thing they have in common is Tax cuts.

The ploy of claiming all republicans are and will govern as Bush. Is falling on deaf ears people. Were not buying it. The tea Party is about removing people like Bush who only paid lip service to Ideas like limited Government and controlling spending. While they acted in the opposite way.

Bush was an impostor. He was only conservative on social issues. He spending policies were clearly liberal. The disaster of bush comes from trying to couple the idea of Low Taxes, with the Idea of SPENDING TO DAMN MUCH.

The small wack far far far far right are buying the Moonshine on America.

Good thinking Americans, about 70%, know the Pledge is horseshit.

Thanks. The pledge means the Dems keep the House by 5 to 8 seats. Believe me, I am really good with numbers.
