Please Post Reasons Why You Want Obama to Raise Taxes Here. Thanks!

Jarhead, who is "the people?"

And are you saying that "the people" DON'T want to pay for all the things they want?

IF that being the case...is that not the problem right there?

The people do not want others to pay for them and they do not want to pay for the others.

The majority of the people do not want a society of "share the wealth"

The majority of the people want a society of personal responsibility.

And the majority of the pople are well aware that if they must pay for things THROUGH the government via taxes, those things will be more expensive and harder to get.

Why does it have to be so black and white, so all or nothing? If that was the case, then when your house catches on fire, you put it out. You get robbed? Tough luck, you figure out who did it. You want cheap, abundant, edible food free of disease? That's your job to ensure. The list goes on....

Contrary to what you might want to believe, your "hard-earned" money isn't just going straight in to the pockets of free-loading, lazy, fat slobs who sit at home all day collecting your checks.

There are PLENTY of good examples of how taxes benefit, me, you and everyone else in this country, despite what you've been led to believe.

According to the loonytunes on this board, in doing so you will make the "rich" pay their "fare share" and eliminate the debt.

Problem - If you confiscated every dollar of wealth from every man, woman, child and business in the U.S. you'd still fall $50 TRILLION short of meeting all the obligations we have taken on.

RAZE THEM
We need to attack Iran for IsNtReal.
They are Gawdz chosen so you need to protect them from destruction.
Don't you read fairy tales ?

Once again, Jarhead, you've ran off into pure ideological nonsensical rhetoric.

All of what you said is opinion...none of it is fact.

Snap out of it!

Toooooooooooooooooooooooo easy!!!

NO ONE'S talking about raising taxes....well, except for incurious-"conservatives" (who don't WANT to understand the FACT$).

We're talking-about following-THRU on what The Bush Admin had ALWAYS expected!!

"....President Bush and a complicit Congress didn’t want to show the magnitude of the deficits that would result from their tax cuts. To hide those deficits as they were pushing them through they used a variety of accounting tricks. One of those tricks was attaching expiration dates so that, on paper, there wouldn’t be any long-term costs."

We'd merely be RETURNING to the tax-rates Bill Clinton had implemented....and, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone (old-enough) to complain-about THO$E YEAR$!!!

I base it on only what we have available to base it on.
Polls.

Is it fact? Tough to deny it as fact.

Oh, and BTW.. Obama HAS rasied taxes, and much more are planned on the near horizon... and the deficits are growing like crazy and projected to go nowhere but up even with the billions in new taxes on EVERYBODY that the Marxists have planned.

You can't base an economy on taxes and then choke off the economic engine that generates them. It isn't that hard to understand.

Well if you are so in love with Polls, then maybe the ultimate poll should mean something to you.....our last presidential election, where "the people" overwhelmingly decided to let Obama have 4 years at being our president. Let the people have what they want.

Your opinion is unsupported. Most Americans do NOT want to get rid of Social Security, Medicare, the public schools, the military, the post office, Medicaid, state and local governments building and maintaining their transportation infrastructures...

...all of which are the top examples of getting things that we pay for, via the government, with taxes.

Obama doesn't have to raise taxes. Bush's tax bill restores higher taxes next year. That has nothing to do with Obama.

Better questions are:

1. Why, if you do, do you want Obama to exacerbate the deficit by lowering taxes?

2. Who has a plan to pay for tax cuts?

Lower taxes to businesses by offering them a tax break for every employee they hire. New employees will have income taxes and the empoloyers will also pay the tax match. Unemployment will go down and there will be more of a pool of unemployment funds.

It is not rocket science. It is pretty basic economics.

Interesting.....you put in things we agree are needed...like Medicare and schools and the military, etc...and leave out things we dont agree with such as healthcare and extended unemployment benefits.

And as for SS....If most knew what woulkd happen to SS, nmost would not want it. But now that all oif us have put into it to the tune of tens of thousands and more, of course we dont want to give it up.

Give me my money back and I would say eliominate it.

Please post why you hate your fellow Americans. You ask a ridiculous question, you get a ridiculous response.

I really don't think it's a ridiculous question. You really do have some people out there who want their taxes to go up... Look at MarcATL.... I know it's crazy but it's the truth.

Revenue MUST be increased even with cuts in spending. It is better to return to the Clinton era tax structure where to wealthy pay a slightly higher percentage, than taxes on goods and services, which hurt the middle class and poor much more.

Well.

We will all find out what happens when you raise taxes.

We will all find out how that effects the economy and jobs.

We will all find out because thats just what Barry Boy will be pushing Congress to do.

So the reason most people support S.S., contrary to your general assertion of what people do and don't support,

is that they're just not as smart as you are?

Republicans should run on that.

Raising taxes during uncertain economic times is perhaps the worse thing which could be done. Even John Maynard Keynes, the original 'vodoo' economist would not support raising taxes in our current situation if the goal is promoting economic growth. The truth is that Obama and his administration have proven time and time again they have no interest in recovery. Their interest is in control. The financial regulation bill signed yesterday is proof of that.
