One thing he does when he avoids these meetings is that he places himself in a very weak position if, God forbid, something did go down. Whether domestically, or more likely Internationally.

It is great that he thinks like a businessman, that is his large focus, Jobs Jobs Jobs. He will have to be prepared to be a diplomatic president also. Getting on a plane when terror strikes an ally. Doing meetings with other leaders and being fully informed about what is going on in their region and in other regions.

I tend to think he is going to rely heavily on Pence for these issues, and probably even expects him to attend such situations with him, or, for Pence himself to handle this.

During the last election many national securityexperts bashed Trump for his philosophy on national security. Trump has not shown much interest in the topic. But he has added three generals to his cabinet, there's that.
