The best Nature Documentary available.

I just picked it up and it is 5 DVD's and each one is at least 2 (or more) hours long, and visually the most stunning video footage ive ever seen.

There are landscapes, animals and sea creatures I have never seen or heard of, and Ive been watching nature shows my whole life.

Here is a 15 minute trailer.

I saw this documentary on the Discovery Channel this spring. It was telecast over four or five nights for a total of 11 hours. Discovery Channel has had at least one repeat airing since that time; so for those who might be interested in viewing it without having to purchase a copy, check your Discovery Channel listings.

Your evaluation of this documentary is right on the money. For content, comprehensiveness, and photography, it should collect some Emmy Awards when next handed out. It was mentioned on the Discovery Channel that it took five years to make this documentary (probably explains why it’s a quality product), and that the filming crew was working in the mountain area of Tora Bora in Afghanistan shortly before Bin Laden passed through in his flight from the coalition forces.

It was first done weekly then they did a marathon airing of it.

We loved it. I wish I had HDTV. Even on a standard TV it was breath taking and very educational. I copied them all on DVD.
