He hoped that large numbers of Jewish refugees and Marranos would settle there, free from fear and oppression; indeed, the persecuted Jews of Cori, Italy, numbering about 200 souls, decided to emigrate to Tiberias.Nasi had the walls of the town rebuilt by 1564 and attempted to turn it into a self-sufficient textile manufacturing center by planting mulberry trees for the cultivation of silk. LIAR we deny that there was any European Jew invasion at any time. What there was in reality was a migration by Jews invited by the Ottomans because the arabs did not want to do any work. Then from 1917 they were invited by the LoN to settle with the grant of land to set up the Jewish National Home. The arab muslims were nomadic farm workers and tribal wanderers in the main.

There was always a Jewish presence in Palestine. Fact: Jews were indigenous Palestinians. Not a single Muslim Palestinian squatter yet around to steal the land until after the 7th century AD.

The Palestinians were all Christian before the Arabians arrived. There were no Jews, the Romans (Byzantines) required adherence to the state religion, Christianity.
