What could this petition hope to achieve? this is a rhetorical question or perhaps a question referencing sociology and culture, this is not sarcasm... OK LETS MAKE IT SIMPLE!: Name one thing that is your most favorite/ best of Game of Thrones tv version, and name one thing that has gone so wrong with the series. Bonus points for naming something this petition could hope to achieve [ the coffee cup has already been edited out] and/ or WHAT unexpected twist can be in the finale story to make or break the finale episode...GAME ON...

me first then...BEST of GOT = The Bran and Jaime relationship, awkward reunion under the tree where Bran asks Jaime if there is an afterwards...and perhaps there is more in the finale that relates to Jaime Lannister(and Tyrion). WORST...taking down Rhaegal the dragon in such an unconvincing manner TIED as worst with brutal murders of prostitutes in the past (makes you wonder if Bran can revisit the porno past network too). SO WHAT DOES the petition HOPE to achieve? I think that the rush job is not appreciated and the fans expect more from the writers.

I think we need Congressional hearings on the matter. Game of Thrones has assumed the role of a public utility, and they have an obligation to the public to provide sensible narrative. Some must be done!

The point is to send a message to HBO. Let them know how people feel and hope they take it to heart for any other got shows they do. No one actually thinks it will make them redo the season. If they do they are idiots.
Personally I think it's a good idea. Subscriptions always go down after major show finales so it would be hard to tell dissatisfaction from the normal ebb and flow of subs.
I haven't personally signed it but it's nice to see.

The greatest shocks in season 8 started with cruel Cersei having the brute Mountain kill the kindest character on the show... Missandei... OK Thrones we still wished for just a little more happiness and victory towards the end...This turned Daenerys from confident and coping to maniacal. It seems others betrayed her as well. From injury to paranoia and rage, with or without exhaustion and lack of nourishment. Now she is everything negative and the fans have lost a great female hero ...and another dragon...and Jorah and all the Mormonts… The fans have gone mad along with the mad queen. It may be fiction. Yet the fan base wants something more hopeful and coherent.
