Pete Buttigieg: America Isn’t ‘Much Of A Democracy’ Because Of That Electoral College Thing

Typical dumbass Democrat.
The 2020 Dem race is to see who can outstupid each other.

AMERICA IS A REPUBLIC

Twitter

So you agree with him.

And HE's stupid. Which makes you ------------------ ?

Say, aren't you supposed to be ferreting out stories about how a freshman Congresscritter who lives three million districts away from you didn't signal for a lane change or some shit?
You're so stupid you got that he agreed with him from his post. What a maroon.

Someone should inform BootyJudge that we have never been a democracy. Presidential candidates should know these things.
We're a democratic republic. We also are supposed to value democracy as in the right of the people to have a say in how this country is governed. Some on the right have a clear hostility to the ideal of democracy, they are not good Americans.
You're an idiot.

Where was all this Liberal hatred for the Electoral College BEFORE the Hillary Beat Down of 2016?
I seem to recall the mantra was "We must respect election results!!" :dunno:

Election results are not Electoral College results, are they Dimmo.

Criticism of the Electoral College goes back two centuries. A considerable push was made in 1969, among other times. The current National Popular Vote Compact dates back to 2005. Among others. The fact that you chose to stick your head in the sand about or during those times is irrelevant.
Everytime a commie scum demoncrap loses they cry about the EC. Too friggin bad.

Someone should inform BootyJudge that we have never been a democracy. Presidential candidates should know these things.
You should watch his announcement speech from yesterday. Then you wouldn't sound so miserably uninformed.

Why is it that America is the only place where the candidate with fewer votes wins the election?
Because like the last election the candidate with the most votes would have been a disaster for America.

We've already had a fag president. Don't need any more.
Pronounced Buddha-judge, the mayor hates Pence because of his stance on the LGBTQ et al community, which if true is probably based on Pence's Christian beliefs. So the mayor is going after him as there really is no other reason to that would increase his base.

Buttiplug is a white Jussie Smollet in that he is an angry homo.
Unlike Smollet, he is Hahvahrd educated, and soft-spoken. Nonetheless, beneath the surface he is a devious passive-aggressive faggot, the worst kind.
Walks softly, and bends over for a big stick!

You like to walk onto the field unarmed huh? That's so cute.

News flash Dumbass --- two centuries ago "demoncraps" didn't exist. We're talking Jefferson and Madison. In 1969 we're talking Nixon. And with the NPVIC we're talking a bipartisan project that includes, off the top of my head, Newt Gingrich, Jake Garn, John Anderson and a slew of Republican state legislatures and state polls. So stuff your amateurish snark back in its uninformed little box and cram it. You ain't ready for this, Hunior.

I uh, don't think Buttigieg "lost", Snappy.

Are you denying California agriculture?

Wine is an agricultural product. And Kalifornication makes the best in the world

About $50 Billion dollars worth.

Their citrus, however SUCKS.

The only way to get juice out of a California orange is to run over it with the delivery truck.

We'd do just fine without california's ag business, although I would miss their Pinot quite a bit.
Think about it a little deeper

Take your head out of your Fox hole. Let the American voters elect a president, not some right wing "pundit"!

Why is it that America is the only place where the candidate with fewer votes wins the election?

Because we are a representative republic with a constitution that mandates a fair voting system.

Don't like it? You know the legal drill.
Twice in 16 years the candidate with fewer votes won the election. Meanwhile districts were gerrymandered so egregiously that candidates are choosing their voters, not voters choosing their candidates.

And in all these things we find the bony, pale fingers of the Republican Party. No wonder you have no complaints. Winning counts for more than Justice. Power counts more than fairness. And the fewer people who get to vote means the greater chance you can hold power.

Could it be possible for each vote to carry equal weight? Is it possible in the 21st century to count all the votes, see who got the most and declare that person the winner?
So you’re complaining that Democrats lose locally...ok.
And nationally in spite of winning more votes
You just marginalized a whole lot of states with smaller populations that produce food.

Maybe so the states that produce our food have representation.
Are you denying California agriculture?
LA is an agricultural center?
There are no other states that are agricultural?
Serious question...Why don’t you move to Mexico?

No. I recognize every state has an agricultural industry within them.

Why did you bas your point on that? What does food production have to do with the Electoral Dollege?

Why don’t you research why the FF came up with the EC?
It was very clever and centuries ahead of it’s time.

What percentage of the population lived on farms or in small towns when the EC was adopted? What percentage of the population lived in cities then?

Do those percentages apply today?

I deny that I eat much of anything grown in that state, so I don't care!

The EC was designed to prevent states like Pennsylvania and Virginia from always winning the presidency and it actually failed miserably in the beginning. Look at how many Presidents came from Virginia, which was the largest state until 1810 when replaced by New York and they have had the 3rd highest number of Presidents at 5. By contrast, Pennsylvania has only had one elected.
