It must seem presumptuous to disagree with such an author as Solzhenitsyn.

I couldn't judge whether it would or would not be presumptuous. At least not knowing what the disagreement was about.

People want to live for the moment and not consider tomorrow. People feel immortal and invincible, more concerned with today or tomorrow than forever. There is also a lack of curiousity about what's "out there".

The universe is a mind boggling entity, difficult to comprehend. Even more difficult to consider is death and what comes after, most people hate the subject. Easier to just live in the moment and worry about those things when it comes. Far too late I imagine.

That's the greatest mystery isn't it? We all get the opportunity to find the answer.
