pentagon hunting down wikileaks founder

hopefully Australia and other countries condemn the usa for this and if the founder is mysteriously found dead soon, that UN action is taken against the united states

Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange Hunted by Pentagon Over Massive Leak - The Daily Beast

for the record, shit like this is why so many countries hate the united states

Ya we should not actually care if secret documents damaging our national security and our diplomatic efforts get leaked. YOU are an idiot. I don't recall if you are an American or not, but if you are, you are suborning treason.

I am American. we don't have the right to go after citizens of other countries we are not at war with without consent of the other country and cooperation or did I miss something? ALso, there is no proof the classified info was leaked to wikileaks, the government is just suspicious of it and so they are acting without cause

And yet the Pentagon has made no claim they would do anything at all except talk to him if found outside the US. The rest of your claim is factually and legally wrong. You are scum, thanks for proving it.

Although I would be suspicious myself if I were Assange, according to this:

The officials acknowledge that even if they found the website founder, Julian Assange, it is not clear what they could do to block publication of the cables on Wikileaks, which is nominally based on a server in Sweden and bills itself as a champion of whistleblowers.

“We’d like to know where he is; we’d like his cooperation in this,” one U.S. official said of Assange.

American officials said Pentagon investigators are convinced that Assange is in possession of at least some classified State Department cables leaked by a 22-year-old Army intelligence specialist, Bradley Manning of Potomac, Maryland, who is now in custody in Kuwait.

They are not out to arrest him or anything like that, they only want to ask for his cooperation.

Now, that being said, this comes from a blog, and I haven't found anything credible to back it up, so, I'm extremely suspicious of the facts presented thus far.

Immie

Well, if he posts anything that endangers lives, as "information related to American diplomatic and intelligence efforts in the war zones in Afghanistan and Iraq" could very well do, that would be criminal. I hope whatever action he takes doesn't put anyone in harm's way, or ruin a chance for some stability in the Middle East.

You are confusing some issues here. If a foreign national is harming our nation, they are the ENEMY and not a US citizen who can cling to the CON and get a nice fair trial for treason.

You think we have a written agreement with every nation in the world on extraditing terrorists? You further think we shouldn't go in and just get terrorists who are hiding in one of those nations which we don't have treaties with? LOL aren't you naive in your little dream world.

Why the recent trend to prosecute whistle-blowers?
War on whistle-blowers intensifies - Glenn Greenwald - Salon.com
"I think it's remarkable," said Gabriel Schoenfeld, a fellow at the conservative Hudson Institute who urged prosecution of The New York Times for publishing details of the Bush administration’s warrantless wiretapping program in 2005. "This is the administration that came in pledging maximum transparency. Plugging leaks is ... traditionally not associated with openness".

From the OP's link:

"The cables, which date back over several years, went out over interagency computer networks available to the Army and contained information related to American diplomatic and intelligence efforts in the war zones in Afghanistan and Iraq, the diplomat said."

Nothing wrong with anyone leaking this stuff right? It could only get some troops and maybe some undercover guys and informants killed. But hey, we have the right to know don't we?

I hope the Military fries this idiot who leaked this stuff. (meaning they prosecute him).
