Pelosi's Rushing the Vote on the Stimulus Package

It is disturbing that huge bills are passed without Congress having enough time to read and analyse them, isn't it?

Your complaints about this bill being rushed into law were exactly my reservations about how Patriot Act was rushed into law, too.

But, amazingly, many of the same people who ushare my pain about this bill, simple could not understand my reservations about rushing though that bill.

I wonder why?

maybe because the Patriot act was just a bunch of changes to other laws that was meaningless when you read it alone, that and it was not spending nearly a Trillion dollars we do not have in one BILL!!!!!!

even still, i had major issues with the PA as well

Instead of publishing the bill as a regular internet document -- which people can search by “key words” and otherwise, the Dems took hours to convert the final bill from the regular searchable format into “pdf” files, which can be read but not searched.

Three of the four .pdf files had no text embedded, just images of the text, which did not permit text searches of the bill. That move to conceal the bill’s provisions had not been remedied this morning at the time of publication of this article.

God, I hope so. People need to wake up realize what this guy is doing. Obama's ideals and beliefs are that of socialism, period. Anyone who doesn't or can't see this is simply blind. He aligned himself with socialists throughout his life, befriended terrorists, was preached to for 20 years by Wright and was the most liberal senator ever. But that was all 'rightwing' bs just to try and get McCain in, right? How anyone who actually listens to him can act surprised at what is going on right now is beyond me.

People were so enthrawled with the prospect of having the first black president, they didn't care what he stood for. Then on top of that, he was an excellent orator (at least when he is the only one speaking).

It is time for the United States of America to clean house.


If not every American in the United States is willing to do this, then whatever comes down the pike all will live with like it or not.

We should take back Washington from both parties. These parties voted for the bailout. And they didn't know that the companies that got a bailout was going to reward their execs with millions in bonuses???!?!??? It's like telling Enron after being caught red-handed and being awarded immunity from angry shareholders.

If they took their time, they would have check all the boxes, cross all the dots. But instead, they rushed through it in October. Now they are rushing through the stimulus in January.

It's like telling you that you have to pay a $100,000 bill tomorrow, no question. You better do it fast. Because once you do, i'm gone.

I have to give Obama Credit actually, he said yesterday that with in a few days the Web site will be up where we can all track how this money is spent. I hope he follows through, but I doubt he will. Why? Because the last thing he is going to want is for us to really know how this money is spent, and how ineffective it really is.
