Pelosi Warns: Trump May Not Give Up Power If He Loses Reelection

No need for the lefty Democrats to worry about that happening.

Trump will easily win the 2020 election. ...
Who is going to vote for him? I don’t think there’s that many racists in United States.

“We have to inoculate against that, we have to be prepared for that,” the House speaker told The New York Times.''

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) worries that President Donald Trump won’t voluntarily cede his power if he loses the 2020 election by a slim margin, she told The New York Times.

“We have to inoculate against that, we have to be prepared for that,” she told the Times last week.

The best way to do that, she said, is for voters to hand Trump an overwhelming defeat.

Describing her “coldblooded” plan for Democrats to win the White House in 2020, she said the party’s nominee must “own” the parts of the electorate that are “center-left” in ideology and in “the mainstream.”

I agree that this is a real possibility. What do you think?
It’s the Republican Party that is so dangerous.
Their election fraud and their suppression. It’s all just the beginning. This is a dangerous out-of-control party. Without morals and totally against the US Constitution.
Donald Trump and the Republicans have become the biggest threat to this country since the British during the revolution, the Nazis during World War II, and the conservative Confederates during the Civil War.
And I think Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and other Democrats are still thinking like this is the 1970s and 1980s and 1990s. It’s not.

He could mount a challenge, anyone could, to ask for recounts in states according to the rules of those states, however, deadlines for these recounts and/or certifications would be in place to assure transfer of power by the appropriate time.

If the Supreme Court of the states and ultimately the SC of the US had to rule, as it did in 2000, it could also do so in a timely enough fashion to assure this as well, as it did in 2000.

Pelosi is talking completely out of her ass on this, and doing so in a way that will stir people up and keep them stirred up through the election. Just manipulating people, like telling old people they're going to lose their social security and the host of other utter bullshit falsehoods predictably spewed every election cycle.

Starting this type of propaganda campaign is like seeing the first robin of spring. The election is officially underway...

That both you and Nancy are delusional.

Watch and learn. Tramp wants to get himself a crown.

The point here is that Trump has a long record of making wholly unsubstantiated claims about election results. And that includes doing so in an election -- 2016 -- in which he won!

It's not much of a stretch then to imagine that Trump, if he does come up short in the 2020 election, wouldn't be willing to simply go quietly into that good night. For Trump, refusing to admit defeat and hand over power voluntarily would be the final sacred cow he could slaughter. He's built a political career on a willingness to break with long-held traditions, the venerated elements of our capital "D" democracy that have long distinguished us from the rest of the world. Trump scoffs at all that sort of stuff, the trappings, he would argue, of an arcane system put in place by elites who can't channel the will of the people like he can.

If you think that's overstating things, it's worth noting that Trump has repeatedly "joked" about changing the Constitution to allow him to serve more than two terms as president.

Now, close your eyes and imagine this: Trump narrowly loses -- by 20-ish electoral votes -- in 2020. He refuses to concede, insists there has been widespread election fraud and notes that Democrats (and the media) have been trying to steal from him since he was elected in 2016.

Doesn't seem all that outlandish, does it?

Based on Trump's history and previous statements - I agree there is a real possibility that he would not relinquish power willingly - especially in a close election. What do you think?
