Pelosi says she doesn't have the votes to pass the Senate Bill

The House and Senate have several options. Your friend's last line is wrong, healthcare reform is not dead and will move forward maybe with a version that makes even me feel better about it.

Who knows, but we DO know that the bloated, kickback-laden piece of shit produced by the behind-closed-doors democratic majority senate is DOA...

Amen....

Well we certainly know that we won't have a Republican version of healthcare reform since nobody can even recall there being a Republican version..

Aw, c'mon Sarah... Toss away the sour grapes and realize the best thing that could happen is NOT pushing through that Senate POS... Now your team will need to sit down and do the people's work with ALL the Sanate and House and come up with something that the people want, not sweetheart deals and paybacks...

You should be happy....

Wow VaYank, looks like you have seen the light. I'm sure it wasn't easy. Been there done that. Welcome aboard my friend, and hang in there. This is for the best. I don't think DC knows there's a train heading their way. The GOP has to learn, and now the Democrat machine has to learn. Take care. Now maybe a real health care reform package can be accomplished in the near future.

The American people have spoken. They oppose government-run health care. Republicans are on the side of the American people.

What Americans want are common-sense, responsible solutions that address the rising cost of health care and other major problems. In the national Republican address on Saturday, October 31, 2009, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) discussed Republicans’ plan for common-sense health care reform our nation can afford. Boehner’s address emphasized four common-sense reforms that will lower health care costs and expand access to quality care without a government takeover of our nation’s health care system that kills jobs, raises taxes on small businesses, or cuts Medicare for seniors:

Number one: let families and businesses buy health insurance across state lines.

Number two: allow individuals, small businesses, and trade associations to pool together and acquire health insurance at lower prices, the same way large corporations and labor unions do.

Number three: give states the tools to create their own innovative reforms that lower health care costs.

Number four: end junk lawsuits that contribute to higher health care costs by increasing the number of tests and procedures that physicians sometimes order not because they think it's good medicine, but because they are afraid of being sued.

How do you eat an elephant? One Bite At A Time!! That is how we need to fix healthcare. One bite at a time. This is good news. First bite - TORT REFORM!!!

The first bites will have to do with big insurance and their disgusting denial of coverage practices and other polices that lead people who get sick to the poorhouse.

Thanks CMike...I could have done the same for Sarah G, but it just wasnt worth the effort.

She truly believes that the republicans took the last year off.

Sadly, many were led to believe this by the media.

Funny how the media has made so many people look un-informed.

Actually...it is sad.

No.
The first bite will have to do with unscrupulous people who refuse to buy healthcare insurance so they can spend the money on vacations...and then, at the first sight of illness, run and buy insurance.

Such was the reason "pre-exisitng" conditions came into play.

Sort of what unscrupulous people did with dental. Never bought it until they needed dental work....so dental insurance has a "grace period".

Just like those that abused homeowner insurance. Did not buy disaster insurance until a huirricane was predicted. Now you must wait a month for the insuracne to kick in.

So easy to blame "disgusting business".......but they are policies set forth to prevent the pub lic from abusing the service.

Hey sarah...I bet you blame the banks for the NINJA loans where people lied about their income becuase they knew the banks would not check into it.

Am I wrong?

"WASHINGTON -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday she does not have the votes to pass the Senate's version of a health insurance bill that is now in severe jeopardy of being scrapped.

Just days ago, that was the most viable option for keeping alive President Obama's top domestic priority, but with the election of Republican Scott Brown to the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, the fragile coalition of Democrats has broken apart as lawmakers bicker over which portions of the $900 billion, 10-year Senate bill they will and won't accept."

This probably means there are no enough votes for cap & trade and "comprehensive" immigration reform...
