Pelosi Announces Democratic Forum On Iraq
Washington, D.C. – Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi announced today that House Democrats will hold a forum to discuss the war in Iraq on Tuesday, December 5. Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski, Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, and Major General John Batiste will join current and new members of the Democratic Caucus in discussing options for a way forward in Iraq.

“The war in Iraq is one of the most critical issues confronting our nation, and the American people have clearly called for a New Direction in Iraq,” Pelosi said. “We know that ‘stay the course’ is not working, has not made our country safer, has not honored the commitment to our troops, and has not brought stability to the region. I look forward to hearing from our distinguished group of experts as House Democrats discuss the deteriorating situation in Iraq.”

This is getting blatantly pitiful. Both parties are asking members of the Council on Foreign Relations for Iraq strategy ?? I would like to see a one hour "special" done on the CFR. You think anyone dares?
Why do we waste money electing anyone to "represent" us ?

Both parties? I only know of one...........

Batiste:

"...we went to war with a flawed plan that didn't account for the hard work to build the peace after we took down the regime. We also served under a secretary of defense who didn't understand leadership, who was abusive, who was arrogant, and who didn't build a strong team."

- April 2006

Brzezenski, is he supposed to be the token "neo-con"? Just don't ask him for a timeline on how long the new Iraqi government will last, he'll miss by forty+ years.

And Holbrooke:

"For starters, he should redeploy some U.S. troops into the safer northern areas of Iraq to serve as a buffer between the increasingly agitated Turks and the restive, independence-minded Kurds. Given the new situation, such a redeployment to Kurdish areas and a phased drawdown elsewhere -- with no final decision yet as to a full withdrawal from Iraq -- is fully justified."

- August 2006

Hey, Dick, that's a cut and run policy. Pelosi's just getting this panel to justify her(their) inevitable decision. Dilloduck, you aint' seen blatantly pitiful yet.

And the flow of BS never ends.

"House Democrats discuss the deteriorating situation in Iraq."

The only thing I know of for sure that has deteriorated is the normalcy-level of the Speaker of the House.

I look forward to Dem's accomplishing nothing then explaining it. Bet money their inaction will be President Bush's fault.
