You guys are still claiming racism? You guys do realize that Obama won in 2008 right?
Yes, I do. And he would have won by a bigger margin had he been white.
Harvard Study claims Obamas race cost him 3-5% of the vote in 2008
President Obama won by a fairly large margin in 2008, but according to a recent study his victory may have been even bigger if he was white. According to the study, authored by Harvard doctoral candidate Set Stephens-Davidowitz, President Obamas race cost him the votes of 3-5% of the entire population. If true, the study concludes that Senator John McCain (R-AZ) effectively had a home-state advantage in every state of the country. Stephens-Davidowtiz also writes that President Obamas race will likely continue to cost him votes in 2012.
The results of the study surely will be viewed skeptically, especially by conservatives who argue that the race factor is overestimated in American politics. However, Stephen-Davidowitz carefully documents his methods in a New York Times piece.
Finding out whether voters are bias is an extraordinarily difficult task. The problem is especially complicated because few people will admit any bias, especially a racial bias, in surveys. So instead of simply asking people if they voted based on race, Stephens-Davidowitz used Google search data, singling out searches which included the word ******(s). In his results, he found a huge proportion of the searches were jokes about African-Americans.
Harvard Study claims Obama
Wish I could have posted the entire article.
So despite the fact that he won with overwhelming support in 08, this nation is racist and you think they are suddenly going to vote against him because of racism?
Or maybe you think they voted for his white half in 08 and are voting against his black half in 12?
Maybe you are just voting against Romney because he's Mexican. That's just as absurd as claiming racism as a reason why Obama is going to lose.
Honest question....Do you think racism is still around? And how much of the population would you say is racists agaisnt African Americans.
I posted a Harvard study and you are completely ignoring that. And your above post indicates to me that you are just not getting it. Obama would have won in 2008 by a much bigger margin, had he been white. Are you pretending that you don't get that some people will not vote for a black presidential candidate??? That's just not believable.
And some people voted for him specifically because he was black. Some people would have turned out to vote for Hiliary because she was a woman, and some people would have rejected her for it.
Michelle Obama wants you to bring your confused, lazy and knuckleheaded friends and relatives to the poll on Nov 2
Mitt needs an intervention
What he is doing is obviously not working as he panders to the right. Mitt is not a conservative...he never has been
In trying to fake conservative street cred, Romney is digging a deeper hole
Mitt needs to return to the Moderate Romney of six years ago and conservatives need to get off of his back unless they want Obama for another four years
