In what way?

9-11 did the most damage.

JFK killing was probably more emotional to all Americans.

Pearl Harbor created the most hate against a foreign empire as it justified the use of the atomic bomb in the minds of most people especially US soldiers. Even 9-11 didn't justify the use of nukes in the eyes of most people.

I wasn't alivedureing PH - but it was almost a given that the USA would be involved in WW2. So PH was not that big a surprise.

JFK ASSN was totally out of-the -blue.

re -9/11 - that wasnt that big a surprise either -couldhave been a lot worse.................................

I think all 3 were a shock but what was worse?

Pearl Harbor actually spurred on the saving of the world by the US.

JFK was loved by many so it was an emotional loss. Country kept right on going.

I wasn't really that shocked about 911.

Pales in comparison to Kennedy saan

no comparison

I would go with Pearl Harbor

It was a slap in the face and a wake-up call to isolationist America
It is what pushed us into becoming a Super Power

2 acts that lead to war have less impact than an assassination?

Are you mental?

Pearl Harbor lead to, around, 300,000 Americans killed.
Women started working jobs only men used to do. [led to the femenist movement]
we put asians and some germans in camps
Built the interstate system as a response
The Battleship died as the Queen of the Ocean and the Aircraft carrier took over.

And that's just off the top of my head.

The Soviets lost 20 million in WW2.

We lost about 250,000.

PH was not a surprise . Lots of tension between us and the Japs before PH.

Kennedy was out of left-field.

9/11 was not a biggie to me or that unexpected compared to theJFKK asn

Russia lost 25 million though that can be debated

US lost 418,000 +

Are you asking what was more devistating? I think 9-11 did more damage. Pearl Harbor was just a military base.

Remember how 9-11 took place on a Tuesday when warning sirens are tested?

I read about having an attack take place by bombers disguised as airline planes on Tuesday when those sirens are tested in an old Man From UNCLE paperback.

The scary part of 9-11 was learning that there were only 14 F-16s protecting the United States at the time.

What if all the nukes we are supposed to have are just hollow shells?

How on earth can you say that PH and 9/11 weren't that big a surprise?

JFK would be the last on the list of of size. It didn't start a war. It didn't cause the deaths of countless causalties. Which one of the other two is bigger is difficult to measure because 1) we are still dealing with the fall out of 9/11. 2) It would be dependent on what we define as "biggest" and 3) Because comparing it all is a pointless exercise anyway.
