Patriotic Sarah Palin Embraces American Exceptionalism And Wants Us To Embrace It Too

[On Tuesday Nov, 3 the country rejected Obama and the direction he was taking the nation.

Really? Show proof of why voters pulled levers as they did, because I don't see Obama on the ballot anywhere dude!! LMAO!!!:lol:

A lot smarter people than you and I saw it differently, Shintao.
If it was just a midterm shift....you would have some ammo, but with over 60 seat shift, and 8-9 gov. shift...it is a referrendum on Obama's policies. Deny it all you want, but.....

You need to understand that with our military machine and exeptionalism, we brought freedom back to europe during WW2. Should we have not interfered and let the Nazis take over? We saved millions. Should we have not interfered and let communism take over?

Whats that ol con line? Give a man a fish, give a man a pole? Correct me if I am wrong, but I see nothing Constitutional about using US Troops off US soil. Nothing wrong with furnishing weapons from the private weapon manufactures, but not from my pocket book.

Why do you say she would teach torture, rape and murder? What's your basis for that utter nonsense.

What else can a con teach with a straight face? Are you saying Palin doesn't approve of Bush's torture, murder and rape of chained & detained humans? That she didn't attempt to destroy a part of America, like some more recent cons have also suggested? Do you know what treason means?

So when a foreign democratic country is attacked and their people are being slaughtered by dictators or insurgents and they ask for our help you think we should just sit back and do nothing? Is that what you think?

Yes, that is what I think.

Also torture has proven it is a neccessary and very capable means to get information on people who want to kill Americans here and abroad. You have to do what it takes to save American lives and our allies lives in a time of war which we are in. Appeasement with a pacifist Neville Chamberlain mindset is not the answer.

You make a big mistake. You don't fight wars off US soil, and you don't take prisoners. Your appeasement to help everybody on the globe from weapons dealers to dead US Troops is pathetic. Take care of your own for christo's sake.............

What is this utter nonsense about Palin wanting to destroy part of the nation as some cons have suggested? Give me a link so I can review this please.

Embracing American exceptionalism is very good and it is very inspiring and patriotic. She is right that we should embrace it.

It is quite clear from America's rich history that we are not the norm when compared to other countries. We have given the world so much,....we have no more to give. But at this point in our history of American society, should we embrace what we have become? I think not. We embarrass our Forefathers and all of our American hero's that have strived to make us exceptional.

We are still unique, we should be proud, and we should believe America is the best country in the world to live in. Problem is, we are not proud of what we have become, we are about as unique as Cambodia, and we are far from the best country to live in. That could all be changed, but there is no groundswell to change America into anything better.

Yes, we should be envied instead of scorned and feared, but we have no business setting any standards for the world to live by, or be the standard bearer for democracy. We could be, but there is no groundswell to change America into anything better.

Yes, we should be number one for humanity, but I suspect Sarah's "number one" is money, Elitism, Capitalism, corporations over human beings, etc. Surely not the same number one I elude to.

Yes, America is feared everywhere we go and thousands die under our military machine. We bribe our way through the World by force and money, and children tremble in the darkness when the American death machine comes to their land. That makes us exceptional.

A very exceptional Constitution, but the way we live? Our Freedoms? No, the corruption in government runs to deep, the tarnish on freedom had turned to black to ever make us exceptional for freedom. That could all be changed, but there is no groundswell to change America into anything better.

Please, don't refer to the traitor Palin as a Patriot. You make me want to puke down your throat. We spend a lot of time here talking about America, so you know the problems and conditions and state this once great America was in. How can you wish this on Americans? You should be ashamed of yourself.

I am not sure what Obama actually thinks, but your Crystal meth ball must have magic to read minds and create fairytales.

Sarah Palin quote on American Exceptionalism in speech the other day:

“We can’t lose this next generation — we have to keep teaching them what it means to be an American — the American exceptionalism that so many of us do embrace . . . We can’t lose that for the next generation that will soon be rising up and be our leaders.”

Teach them to be Americans who do what? Torture, rape & murder innocent human beings because we are so unique and exceptional we are above reproach & the laws of the World and America. Yes, we really need a Returd to teach a child about America. Snicker, snicker,.... LOL!!:lol:
And now you will post examples of traitorous actions by Sarah Palin.
You will also provide examples of rape murder...
Ya know what? Skip it....No one is interested in the ramblings of an irrational 60's leftover...
Or are you Keith Olbermann?

Here is where Sarge admits he is a loser, and was defeated because he knows what I say is truer than his gods.

Yes, it's easy to dent the facts while standing in the middle of the room and screaming that you are correct and everyone else is incorrect.
Your denial of the facts is exemplary of the left's irrational views of the world.
One more time..Read very carefully and mark...The American people spoke loudly on November 3rd. Obama's agenda was rejected. Period.
You believe what you wish. You may ignore the facts if it gives you comfort.
It doesn't change a thing.
This country has and always will reject socialism and far left liberalism.
Heck, a paltry 20% of Americans actually identify themselves as politically liberal. You belong to a very small and apparently shrinking minority.
Oh, I have a question....FORMER speaker of the House ,Nancy Pelosi stated she and her democrat friends "liberated" the American people when they passed Obamacare..
Do you "feel liberated"?

Yea? Well, in order to be envied across the globe...

in order to set the standard for the way a society should be...

In order to be number one and not settle for anything less...

In order to BE exceptional, in every societal aspect other than our military...

we have to do pretty much the opposite of everything I have heard her open her mouth about in the last couple of years...

and follow Obama a bit more closely. Because, whether I agree that he is doing an awesome job or not, the man has definitely set a good standard for how people should interact, and has definitely increased the way the world views this country, whichis the first step in at least two of your points.

Obama is quite possibly the most divisive individual to ever occupy the Oval Office.
On Tuesday Nov, 3 the country rejected Obama and the direction he was taking the nation.
Obama has set out to pit groups of people against each other. In that regard he has been a successful Chief Executive.

BAHAAHAAAHAAAAA!!!

no seriously.....

hahahahahahaha!
THAT....is your reply?...That's all you've got?
The facts have that kind of effect on you, yes?

Usually your posts are kinda sucky. But this? ^ Spot on.

Yes good words, but what has she actually done in this area?

She's rallied conservatives from their slumber (and we're not going back to sleep).

Why wouldn't Americans want America to be exceptional, to be the country all the other countries look up to? Shouldn't we strive to be the best?

Then we need to have a country that actually looks out for the people instead of big business.

Right now, our country isn't the best. It's one of the worst developed nations in terms of health care system, educations and employment. We have worst unemplyment than horrible socialist countries like Canada, Italy, and England. Heck even Mexico has a better unemployment rate than us.

We lost our luster, no longer can you come to America with no education looking for a better life because our dollar sucks, all of our blue collar jobs essentially left. You have to work two jobs just to make ends meet. Social Mobility is a joke.

So when I hear "America is the greatest country in the world." I don't think we are but we can be great.

We need to build again.
We need to reinvest in our education system.
We need to get rid of the system of health care that gives their CEOs half a billion dollars a year while providing inadequate care.
We need to keep blue collar job here.
We need to have businesses proud to be American.

The only party I see trying to solve our problem is the Democrats. Republicans obstruct with no real solution only more tax cuts that add to our debt and destroyed our economy and rewarding businesses that create jobs......In India.

But I guess I am a hippy socialist for suggesting all the above and believing in America.

Who private buisness or the federal governement?

We need to reinvest in our education system.
You mean give more money to public sector unions or give parents a choice with vouchers?

We need to get rid of the system of health care that gives their CEOs half a billion dollars a year while providing inadequate care.

You mean let the federal government decide what kind of procedures you should and can have or let you're doctor make those decisions?

We need to keep blue collar job here.
We need to have businesses proud to be American.

You mean the federal government that is chasing business out of this country with the 2nd highest corporate business taxes in the world, stupid mandates and regulations and pushing illegal immigrants rights, all the while pushing some stupid carbon taxes to further drive up the cost of doing business in this country?

But I guess I am a hippy socialist for suggesting all the above and believing in America

Nah.. you just a liberal idiot with a stupid picture of Obama as superman..:cuckoo:

None of the above is the job of government.
All are OUR jobs...We do that stuff..
Stop looking to government as your personal knight in shining armor.
Simply allowing government to rip away at the personal finances of private individuals does not guarantee government will meet any of your socialist expectations.
In fact, given the collective track record of our elected officials in DC, I'd say that is a resounding NO!

Don't go completely dumb on me Dudley.

Once again, a wild eyed statement and nothing to back it up Dudley. I am not sure why you find this relevant to anything, but keep mumbling in the wind.

yes, but thru action not just hype and talk.

Most Americans still think we lead the world in most all areas, this is not true no matter how much we believe or want. It takes action.

Patriotism, etc without action is one reason we are going downhill.

Gotta start some place! :)
We already did...when Obama won in Nov. 2008. That was a GREAT start. We've been getting better, slowly, but just this past November got another setback. Damn shame, but we'll be going forward again soon enough.

She's rallied conservatives from their slumber (and we're not going back to sleep).

Why wouldn't Americans want America to be exceptional, to be the country all the other countries look up to? Shouldn't we strive to be the best?

Rallying conservatives from slumber does not necessarily equate to America being exceptional.
American exceptionalism is not a person. It is an idea. The idea that this country is the greatest experiment in leadership, achievement and success. This is THE land of opportunity.
This is a place where anyone who is born here, naturalized citizen or by choice a resident alien can achieve to the best of their ability.
This is THE only nation on the planet that provides that opportunity.
American exceptionalism and conservatism are inexorably linked.
Patently false.

Yes good words, but what has she actually done in this area?

No...you, Sir, are a great American.

Just for clarities sake, the term American Exceptionalism refers to these matters.
Absence of feudalism.
Puritan roots.
American Revolution and Republicanism. (New Nation)
Slavery.
Immigration.

From the same author.

"Among a democratic people, where there is no hereditary wealth, every man works to earn a living...Labor is held in honor; the prejudice is not against but in its favor."

I really don't think Sarah and Alex are talking about the same thing. Yes, America is the world's single superpower, able to disintegrate a country in 38 days, yes, the founding ideals of liberty, equality, civic involvement and distrust of the corrupting influence of power wielded in the hands of the few are exceptionally good ideas to base a society upon, but, in no way does it state that we are better than any other group of people in the world. That we are error-free and not to be questioned. That patriotism is personality cult.

And if Sarah didn't know that, she should look up her quotes and their authors.
And if she did, she is just a venal liar.

Thanks for that recommendation; it is really helpful for me to say!

1. Build what exactly, and where will you get these trillions of extra dollars to do it? By expanding the deficit and bringing the American economy closer to a death spiral.

2. By creating more jobs for bureaucrats, keeping teacher salaries low and the quality of education poor, and taxing the American people twice as much for it. Good luck with that. :eusa_whistle:

3. Heathcare....its interesting you say that. Might poor diet have something to do with that. Considering Obama's food safety officials are near enough Monsanto's bitch. Monsanto being the same company which is killing American's with factory made, cloned, toxic, GE food, made from antibiotics, while subsequently putting small farmers out of business and creating more unemployment. Go Democrats. Let's get those people sick, and destroy those farmers lives!

4. You will sure do that, in fact because Obama has put so many Americans in debt they can't afford to repay, many Americans will get blue collar jobs, and they will be shipped overseas.

5. Businesses don't give a shit about what country they are from, they care about making money, you are really cut off from economic reality for pulling that one.

6. The Democrats...Obama will solve everything. 'Hope', 'Change', 'Yes we can'. Reality check: Obama has done virtually nothing for the economy, while giving the resemblance he has, its called having a good PR team. :cuckoo:

What do we gain by embracing exceptionalism?

Do we get to wear special ribbons saying "I am exceptional"?
Does it allow us to do anything we want because , after all, we ARE exceptional
Does the rest of the world bow down and congratulate us?

The election results ARE the facts. Your side lost. Liberalism got it's ass kicked. Obama's agenda was rejected because it isn't producing positive results. It was rejected because the country does not want radical leftist policies banging on their front door.
Now you an sit there as go.....:lalala: if you wish. It matters not. You can sit and complain while we the thinkers and producers move on.
Done.
