There's a few threads about RINOs, or people you admire, or whatnot, but because sometimes you need a place to vent about how dumb your party is, I decided to throw this up here.

Is your party losing its values? Are they sticking to them too hard? Are they compromising? Are they not compromising? And so on and so forth.

I'm not asking if you're considering leaving your party, although if you are, that's fine too. I just want to know, in your own view, Democrats and Republicans (and Libertarians you crazy bastards :D ), what you don't agree with, and that way we can figure out why that is.

Of course the problem is that the "other side" will probably show up and laugh at you for it, but come on, you expected that. Fuck 'em.

I'll start, because I used to be a liberal (Webster definition, not whatever it is today), and by extension, a Democrat.

I can't stand this administration. It's not that Obama's a socialist or a communist or whatever, I don't believe that, just like I don't believe that Republicans are Nazis or controlled solely by the Evangelicals or whatever. It's just the fact that Obama talks, way too much, and it seems like he gets nothing done. Oh sure, there's a law here, one there, but unless he's setting his eyes on the Bush Jr. Standard of Leadership, then he should have done much better.

Note that I said SHOULD do better. Doesn't mean he can.
I also despise Harry Reid. What a bully. He owns the Senate and he knows it, and that pisses me off so much. We need to work together and he's throwing up walls.

(I know that Democrats will come in here and say "But Republicans have been stonewalling us from the start!" That's true, to a degree; how long did it take for Dems to start to compromise?)

Okay, rant over. I look forward to the civil and totally adult conversations that come from this.

I stopped voting in 2006. I will never be a Democrat and by 2006 the Republican Party had overwhelmingly proven it is fiscally profligate in the extreme.

Since then, it has become more and more psychotic on an Orwellian level. Now I just kind of watch, fascinated, to see just how low it will go. Sadly and frighteningly, it has already passed all my lowest expectations.
