Paris to ban all petrol and diesel cars by 2030

You mean 300 miles is not far enough away?
Not really because they would have no chargers there, or the charger entry code would be altered. A gasoline car could run on even alcohol although very crappily.
LOL Over a thousand Tesla super charging stations in Europe, scroll down to the map at this link;

Be nice if you 'Conservatives' would actually look up what you are flapping yap about before displaying your vast ignorance.

No, this doesn't help. What if the government decides that you did something wrong and puts your car on the no charge list? With the good old petrol cars, you can't be controlled this way.

That is silly. Do you believe that the any government controls every outlet on the grid? And why would it be any different if the government decided that you were not allowed any petrol? You are being silly.

By golly, let us go with the depletion allowances. And give them to the wind and solar farms, as well.

As soon as wind and solar deplete like an oil deposit depletes, that will work.
Wind has already depleted, because almost every wind farm I have ever seen was immobile or turned by gasoline motor for maintenance.
Fucking dumb, a lie that is so easy to refute.

5 Heartland states now more than 20% wind-powered
March 6, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Iowa, South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma and North Dakota all sourced more than 20 percent of their electricity generation from wind power during 2016, according to new data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). It shows wind supplied over 5.5 percent of electricity nationwide, up from 4.7 percent in 2015.

With 99 percent of wind turbines located in rural areas, wind power’s steady growth as a share of the nation’s electricity supply has been accompanied by a surge of investment in rural America. The industry invested over $13.8 billion in new turbines last year, according to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), in addition to operating a fleet now over 52,000 turbines.

“Wind is now cheaply and reliably supplying more than 20 percent of the electricity in five states and is a testament to American leadership and innovation,” said Tom Kiernan, AWEA CEO. “For these states, and across America, wind is welcome because it means jobs, investment, and a better tomorrow for rural communities.”

Yeah but too, the EIA also says wind and solar combined will still be less than 10% of the grid 25 years from now.............

This page contains information about the 20% Wind Energy by 2030 report, which was published in 2008 by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), including an overview, the reports, and related workshops.

Over the past two years, an elite team of researchers, academics, scientists, engineers, and wind industry experts revisited the findings of the 20% Wind by 2030 report and built upon its findings to conceptualize a new vision for wind energy through 2050. Taking into account all facets of wind energy (land-based, offshore, distributed), the new Wind Vision Report defines the societal, environmental, and economic benefits of wind power in a scenario with wind energy supplying 10% of the country’s electricity in 2020, 20% in 2030, and 35% in 2050.

20% Wind Energy by 2030: Increasing Wind Energy's Contribution to U.S. Electricity Supply | Department of Energy

As the manufacture of grid scale batteries becomes more competitive and the price curve continues downward, the amount that wind contributes may well outpace the predictions.

That way t hey can control everything you dumbasses do. Population control works in an excellent manner when people are to stupid to see through the leader con jobs. LOL

Electricity is easier and safer to transport than gasoline, duh....You can also set up solar powered charging stations...Without govt knowledge...duh....The whole idea behind renewable energy is getting out from under the clutches of the monopolies of energy production for use on small scale operations....You'd think people would be more acceptable of renewable energy for independence from corporate and govt. control....

Yes but no because battery and solar cell production requires endless quantities of sulfuric acid, burning the earth endlessly, much worse that a burning oil spill. Also, you need to be a gigantic corporation to be a battery or cell producer or you will not be able to achieve the yield threshold for business viability.
